Character Sheet Re-imagined for Print

By JamesRBrown, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

I shared this on the Compiled Resources List thread too, but I thought I would put it here as well for good reasons (searches, discussion, etc.).

Download the character sheet here for EotE https://drive.google.com/file/d/1uCy5ewXhupPkvAVF_owH5qOCTYRrJMGL/view .

Here is a character sheet combining all three Star Wars RPG lines https://drive.google.com/open?id=1crcuL82Dnff-n6DK7JVRy5vICPHGCgAU .

Here is a full color version https://drive.google.com/open?id=16oLP1FuQgNjywhyMo91HwS2qLrDzzIlZ .

Here is the full color version with a background https://drive.google.com/open?id=19ynsnLp2jMrBgAcK7_RCivmonhfBXoso .

To really make this work, you'll also need to get some Specialization Talent Tree sheets and Force Power sheets. There are some really good ones here . Just grab the pages appropriate for your character and use the check boxes to keep track of your Talents and Powers.

EDIT: Adjusted the Lightsaber skill so that the associated attribute can be noted by the player, since it can be changed. Also, added more flavor to the logos. Let me know which one you like best: Falcon or Tie Fighter?

Added a full color combined version with background texture.

It looks really nice. At this point, I would just add Lightsaber and Knowledge (Warfare) to the list of skills. I also think the talent section is too small, but I think it always will be when the expect you to keep cards or copies of the talent trees with your character sheet.

I could double the Talent section by adding a couple of columns and leaving less space for details. Hmmm. I want to try it out first. That might be something that isn't needed until characters are more experienced. As far as the skills Lightsaber and Warfare go, they could be penciled in if they do not affect most characters in EotE. I don't know yet, because we have not played it that much.

Instead of having a talent section, you can just print out the talent sheets for careers which the players can just check off, you can probably find them in the Compiled Resources thread. Then you can use that space for other stuff.

JamesRBrown do you have all three of the character sheets in that format?

Unfortunately, not yet. I think for AoR, it'll be a matter of adding a couple of skills and changing the Obligation box. The same will be true of FaD, but I will need to add a Force rating box, I think. I don't know how important Force Power slots are. Could Force Powers be listed under "Talents and Special Abilities"? Need some advice...

What are the chances of having a single, combined character sheet that could speak to all lines? I like your design here!

That seems like a good idea. After looking at all three rulebooks this morning, it seems like all I would need to do is add Lightsaber and Knowledge (Warfare) as skills (as HappyDaze mentioned), add a Force Rating box, add a Duties section with a small box for Group's Contribution Rank, add a Morality section, take the Talents and Special Abilities section and convert it to a simple listing with page numbers and book reference (very little description, but encourage using Talent Sheets for Careers as whafrog has suggested), and add Force Powers. If I have any room left, maybe add a section for listing Group resources and notes.

Question for experienced players: Does anyone ever use Obligation, Duty, and Morality at the same time? Or a combination? Or is the GM encouraged to stick to one for all players depending on the campaign focus?

I personally have combined Duty and Obligation, and I have heard that some tables combine them all with abandon. The general consensus is interoperability between the lines is desired so I think there's a fair number of tables doing it this way. I think there might even be an O66 podcast on the subject.

The F&D rules also have a section on using all three mechanics in the same campaign, with various options on how to do it. These rules can be found on pages 338-339 of the F&D core rules.

Thanks everyone!

I have almost completed a combined character sheet.

One last question: The FaD character sheet gives room to make notes on 3 Force Powers. Is that enough? Should I make more boxes than that? I think I have room for at least 4 or 5, but I don't know if that's unnecessary due to limits or rules, etc.

Finally, if anyone could point me to the Talent sheets for Careers, I want to take a look at what has been made. I am imagining there is a checklist of talents for each specialization that a character has. If it's that good, I will use them as is. But, if not, I might want to create my own Talent Tree checklists that can be used by each player so they can make notes, etc. Or, we could just buy the cards FF has already made!

Absolutely not. The biggest problem I have with most of these sheets, even the official ones, is that there isn't enough room for all of the Talents and Force powers.

What exactly are you saying "absolutely not" to? Help me to understand your response. I need to know if giving room for notes on 4-5 Force powers is a good idea or should there be a whole separate page like the Talents checklist? If that's the case, I will just leave room to list Force powers by name on the main character sheet with a reference number. Then, a checklist of Force powers with room for notes could be added (just like Talents) as a supplement to the character sheet. Maybe that's the way to go.

Does anyone know if there are fan-made checklists for Talents and Force powers? I would really like to see them.

I'm saying that only three slots for Force powers is not enough . The more slots for talents and Force powers, the better, even if it means adding more sheets to the form. I would rather have a multi sheet folio that has space for every skill, talent, Signature Ability, and Force power, along with all of their upgrades, than a single two sided sheet with only a handful of slots that wouldn't even cover a fraction of these.

I see! Would you like to see EVERY Talent and Force Power listed by name, along with upgrades? Or would you be satisfied with a generic set of sheets that contain enough slots for one character to list his own Talents and Force Powers? If so, how many slots would be enough for any character?

I think I would prefer to attach a set of Talent Trees and Force Power Trees that only pertain to my character. I would want an explanation for each and I would want to be able to take notes.

As for the talent sheets, RLogue177 has done some awesome work HERE .

Everyone in our group uses these.

Those talent sheet PDFs I mentioned above have the Force Powers too. The way the game is constructed it's far easier to use the pre-printed sheets because you also get handy reminder text of what the talent/power does.

This game does tend to require you to have a lot of info at your fingertips. A list of talent names doesn't really cut it. With that in mind, I hate to rain on a parade, but...honestly, you'd have to do a lot to beat OggDude's character generator: https://community.fantasyflightgames.com/topic/89135-another-character-generator/ Not least because it prints the dice pool right on the sheet, so you don't have to do the calculations to generate your pool (how many yellows, greens, and blues).

And this online resource does a pretty great job too: http://swsheets.com

These days, printed sheets filled in by hand are kind of a last resort, really only useable for Session Zero and chargen.

Does this sheet do the skill check tabulation thing and show the dice icons as stats and skills are adjusted? I like that EoE one.

The way Oggdude’s character generator is exactly how it should be done. The only problem with that generator is that it’s Windows only and I use a Mac.

This is exactly my problem too. I spend most of my time playing The One Ring and I'm grateful there's an online character generator/server that stores the character sheets, etc. All you need is internet access and don't need to worry about Mac/PC issues. It would be amazing if someone would develop and host such a resource for FF Star Wars.

Actually, it might not be perfect but I came across this

Tell me do you have a full color version of this character sheet?

Also I am interested in encoding one to auto fill out with the dice symbols.

I think this character sheet is amazing. Any design files you are willing to share would be greatly appreciated. [email protected]

One useful thing, for a future version, can be split the social skills in their own box, like Genesys?
