A thread for what presumably should be in the pipeline for the Waiqar faction.
In the stuff already realeased , there are a few obvious holes which spurs the imagination for this thread; - Ankaur does not have a “valid” target unit for his Cavalry champion upgrade and does not have a cost-efficient target for his necromancy ability, Lord Werebat does not have a valid target unit for his Siege Heavy upgrade and Ardus has a Special action on his dial with no use.
Note: I was quite surprised upon release that the Wraiths did not fill any of these slots.
If we examine the Waiqar units from Battle Lore 2.0 not yet released for RWMG we have the: Barghest (hounds), Banshee (large Wraith), the Barrow Wyrm (dragon) and Bone Horrors (bone assembly). But we should note that RWMG contains units that is not represented in that game, like the Carrion Lancers or Werbats ( chiroptropes ), which indicates that Battle Lore should not be regarded as a frame.
I would presume that the following things are in the pipeline (yes, I've posted some of the stuff elsewhere on the forum before):
Descriptions are from the Terrinoth wiki when available and abilities is somewhat mapped after their abilities in other games where they appear.
Bone Horror (the unit that Ankaur can have his cavalry champion in)
Bone Horrors are undead masses of bone bound by Necromancy that can reach and move with astonishing speed. These agile and fearless monsters can be created by only the most powerful and depraved of Necromancers. One such Necromancer is Waiqar the Undying himself.
Banshee (the unit that Lord Werebat can have his siege champion in)
Like the Barghests, the Banshee is a wild creature doomed to exist somewhere between life and death. Thsee nightmarish monsters are some of Waiqar's most powerful and fearsome servants. She does not fight in Waiqar’s army willingly, however, but must be captured, chained, and forcibly led into battle by very skilled Necromancers. A wretched, screaming Banshee is so Horrifying that mortal soldiers shrink away from her, even as her unwavering aura of darkness and death empowers the undead around her.
Draugr (the unit that makes Ankaur's necromancy ability valuable)
Monstrous humanoids, remnants of ancient times, still lurks in the dark edges of the civilized world. The necromancers of Zorgas, ever experimenting on the fallen, have with unprecedented corruption of the natural forces managed to infuse these beasts' corpses with new life. With an unbearable stench and rotting disease infested flesh hanging loose on their bones, flailing enemies that come close, the Draugr will bring even the most stalwart foes to their knees in sickness.
Tools for the captains of the Legion (what Ardus and Ankaur needs )
- Ardus cannot be expected to live long if he charges headfirst into battle. He is a commander, let him work as one.
- Ankaur is very expensive when considered his dependence on the energy runes. If he gets some potential control over them he becomes more efficient and reliable. This would also synergize with Reanimates and Banshees.
