I'm a player in a game that uses the FFG Star Wars system in a different setting. My character is a former spec ops soldier turned mercenary and now a member of the rebellion in this setting. Current specs are Commando/Vanguard. Attributes are Brawn 3, Agility 4, Cunning 3, others 2, so my social skills are crap but other than that I'm ok or even good.
Wound threshold is pretty decent (21 I think) but strain is only like 12 so I could really use something that improves that, since I've got a few Talents that burn through Strain like it's cool. I was thinking the martial artist from No Disintegrations for that.
To add a further complication, I recently got an animal companion I guess you could call him. I rescued a creature similar to a wolf from some goons that were attempting to capture him and return him to his now-former owner. After scaring them off I took the unconscious critter to our ship and got his wounds treated. So I was thinking of seeing what specs provide some kind of bonuses or abilities for dealing with animals. I wasn't planning on this being my primary focus, however, and Survival (which is what you use for training animals IIRC) is already a career skill.
So what are some specs that would be a good combination with what I've got already and my attributes? I've got every book except Enter the Unknown (which is supposed to be here this week) and maybe an adventure book.
