Hello everyone,

I usually play squadronless. And I'm trying to find a fun way of playing a lot of star destroyers with 7th fleet titles. Here is what I had:

Herm... I would question if you wouldn't be better off with a bid. I had a ton of fun playing ISD VSD VSD with 0 squads awhile back, feel free to take a look at my write up here:

Given you're adding an entire additional VSD to your list... But my gut feeling is that you're going to lose the same amount of ships as I would, but your short range, slow VSDs will be difficult to utilize, especially as player 2.

As far as 7th fleet goes, I would recommend looking at ISD/VSD/GSD combo (with Raider + Gozanti or 2xGozanti as an addition). Projection Experts GSD2 is surprisingly effective in this kind of fleet. Also, for VSD1 External Racks > Ordnance Experts.

I'm not really sure about VSD 1s, I was thinking of using them as "side" ships for the ISD, only using them on ships trying to get around from the big guy. VSD2 pack a lot of punch with Disposable Capacitors. But the extra cost make it impossible to field 4 triangles, and the whole idea is to leverage the 4 titles to improve survivability to small volleys & bombers.

Maybe replacing the Kuat with a Cymoon ? It loses the EWS, which makes it a lot tankier tough. But it can field the usually bad "Shield to Maximum" and fix Jerjerrod cost pretty easily.

@MandalorianMoose came up with an interesting idea that's also squadronless and based around Seventh Fleet.

Interesting indeed. I would not go with QBTs, and just add Spinal Armament on the Cymoon, and Intensify Firepower! (which is a bit overkill with Vador, but is far from useless).

This being said : I never manager to do well with VSD, unless I was playing Jerjerrod. (I did ok, especially with Disposable Capacitors, but never overpowering anyone or anything).

But Vador almost calls for things like Overload Pulse on the VSD 2. Cause 3 rerollable dice will produce a critical hit.

Thanks for the mention Bert! This is one of my all time favorite fleets, it just looks so janky and yet it works. So many dice flying around, decent damage reduction, high activations, universal rerolls- what more could you want?

Don't sleep on QBT- this fleet slow rolls in formation so it almost always proc's, and with double arcs that's 6 extra dice each round
