Are you as unhappy as I am that Saw's Renegades X-Wings don't feel nearly as good as the 2.0 stuff? Here's how to fix them! It's as easy as popping them open with an Exacto knife, doing a little scraping, and gluing them right back up!
How to fix sticky S-Foils on Saw's Renegades

You can also clean out the gunk by spraying WD-40 between the wings and letting them soak in a bath of WD-40 for 48+ Hours (Depends on how much gunk is in there). It doesn't harm the plastic, paint job, finish or the glue that holds everything together. But after a few days of Moving the wings open and closed (and side to side when the wings are together). My Saw's X-wings now all open and close like the 2.0 Models that we've seen do.

You know I actually tried that and it never worked for me. I didn't want to crack them open but it's what I resorted to after the WD-40 bath didn't work haha. Plus, cracking it open ended up being much faster overall, and less messy!

That's too bad, I just tried it the other day with just spraying then washing and it worked fine on one and was a little sticky on the other so I'm gonna run that one through again.
On a related note when I finally got mine out to use in a game and was so bugged that the s-foils wouldn't stay in position that I emailed FFG about getting replacements and here's the response I got...

Note: Thank you for contacting us with your request; however before we continue we need some more information. With the s-foils, we suggest working them gently up and down as that may ease the plastic and paint for easier movement. If you continue to have issues with your s-foils, please measure the gap from the end of the wings. If the gap is smaller than 1.5 mm, that is within our tolerances for this product. If not, please resubmit your request and we will happily send out a replacement. For any further questions or concerns, please contact us! Thank you!
Mine did finally close after working them up and down so I didn't resubmit for a replacement. Still kinda bugged that I had to resort to other methods to get them to work 'right'

I've had bad luck with all but one ship I've broken open for Modding before I repaint. I should also add that one of my fighters required more time in the WD-40 Bath (An additional 24 hours did the trick) so the time depends on how much gunk is in the model. Although I am tempted to try breaking one open simply because it'd make the repaints I plan to do a lot easier.
2 on the left are Saw's Renegades and the one on the right is stock 2.0 for comparison
Overall worked great, but I will say the first part of the tutorial was highly variable. The Blue Angels one took a lot of messing with, but the Thunderbirds one popped off and went across the room as soon as I got the knife wedged in. Not too bad for time, roughly 2 episodes of Clone Wars on Netflix.
