First Last Raddus

By The Jabbawookie, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

An attempt to squeeze in 6 pre-drop activations, 2 larges and a bid. (Squads are for the weak.) I'm keen to get first here so I can drive the MC75 in and shoot, or reliably slice with QS. Unlike Aspiration, a Kuat BTAvenger could kill the flagship quickly. Fitting in external racks would be great if anyone can find the points (might be worth sacrificing the bid;) currently the Hammerheads are there as activations/a little damage here and there. Dropping one for a CR90B lifeboat is tempting. Also wondering if someone can pitch a case for a different blue objective. Intel sweep could work, but strategic squadrons have no opposition. Thoughts are greatly appreciated.

Salvage Run isn't a bad one. Max 80 pts for your opponent if you have to bail, but knowing where they're headed can let you flank and pincer pretty easily. You can usually get one of the tokens if not at least two. Slicer tools isn't a bad one to run in there, especially if they get aggressive first turn.

Interesting list, as for the bid it depends on your local META. Around me 391 is not a sure thing. I'd only feel 50/50 about getting first. I know you said the activations were important to you but I might suggest dropping the naked flotilla and put Racks and maybe Taskforce Organa on them. That makes the Hammerheads a little more formidable and increases your bid.

Dropping one for a CR90B lifeboat is tempting.

With 6 activations pre-drop why not swap out one of the Hammerheads for a Corvette B with Engine techs? That's 47 points as opposed to 36 for the HH so you need to find 11 points from somewhere. Dropping Aspiration and Lando from the drop ship will get you 7 of those points. With the extra 2 speed movement from the Corvette vs the HH you're more likely to get the drop where you want it to avoid getting the worst of the shooting back and possible get them in a pincer movement between the flagship. That plus you have a highly maneuverable Corvette right behind so support the pincer. Movement 5 gets you a very long way across the board! Especially when you can accelerate from speed 2 with a token and dial together. I wouldn't use the CR90B as a lifeboat but as a drop target.

You could also drop ECM on the drop ship and add comms net to the naked GR75.

The thing I hate most playing against Raddus is not knowing where the drop is going to come and it coming in from the side or rear. What you have on the table isn't particularly fast and if you come up against squads you're likely to get out deployed meaning your rival can keep targets ships away from you. If they are long range fire platforms of carriers this is an issue for you. Faster ships will help you counter that.
