Calling the Meta for 2.0 now! 6 z-95 with cluster missiles and failsafe for 96 dice alpha! - nevermind i was wrong :/

So looking at cluster missiles and munitions failsafe it looks like you can go back and forth from 2 targets infinitly until you get 4 decent rolls on the target you want.

e.g.

target lock 1st ship in arc.

fire cluster missiles

cancel with munitions failsafe.

switch to 2nd target at range 0-1 of defender using cluster's after attacking ability

roll attack dice,if you get a good roll keep it if not failsafe

switch back to 1st ship

repeat

Profit!

thats a 7 point 16 die attack in one turn requiring just a target lock

6 z-95 with clusters and failsafe is 180pts and has a potential for 96 attack dice in 1 turn with the ability to reroll until you get all hits on each attack!!!

So what happens when the opposing ships aren't in range 1 of each other?

Or if you don't get TL because you're a low Initiative z95?

Also, only one bonus attack per round

But I still say Initiative 6 or Bust with emphasis on I6 & 6 rule for competitive list building (Initiative 6 and 6 points under 200 for turn bid);)

Infinite attack, no, but are you supposed to use a charge for the bonus attack?

I am not sure, but I think no, so you may cancel the first attack, get your charge back and attack again for free?

Anyway, even if it was possible, it is not a excellent trick, but it is fun

Not certain but doesn't the card say "spend a charge to perform a additional attack blah blah blah" so it wouldn't end up being free anyway

Pretty sure it isn't because the special ability just lets you attack with the weapon again which would normally include meeting all conditions for the attack like inside your front arc at range 1-2 spending a charge and having a target lock (although it does specifically state you don't need the lock for the bonus attack, so you get to ignore that part).

FFG may have seen you coming.

reminds me of the time that I thought Capt Jonus gave me two additional attack dice instead of letting me reroll two. that was a disappointing realization.....
