Kabuki Artist

By rC(-_-), in UFS Rules Q & A

I'm sure that this has been answered before but i didn't see it anywhere in the search! Sorry :D

When you use Kabuki Artist, and you have no momentum, what happens? Do you get to search your discard pile for any card? Or no card? I figure the do as much as you can rule comes into effect.

Kabuki Artist : E Commit: Reveal your momentum. Your opponent discards 1 momentum revealed this way. Add 1 card from your discard pile to your hand. The added card may not be the same card type as the discarded momentum.

I believe that the current ruling is that you need to have at least one momentum to use the ability, otherwise there will be no card type to reference when you try to get a card from discard. However, I don't have the previous link or ruling for support so take it as you will.

Edit: Links from the old FFG fourms regarding this.

Stamp, if you don't have a card to discard as a reference the ability ends up doing nothing since you don't know what you can retrieve.
