With a portion of the content required to play X-Wing moving from the physical world (cards) to the digital world (the app) I'm excited to think about what the future might hold for the game. I hope we never lose these beautiful miniatures (holo chess on the Falcon was great but these minis and the physical components of the game are part of what I love). I'm sure with advances in mixed reality software and wearables there will be interesting ways to combine physical media and digital content in the future.

I played around with some free AR kits and came up with a simple little demo that displays point costs and upgrade slots on ship and upgrade cards - is this something we could see implemented more robustly and in a cool Star Wars themed way in the future?

Possibility could be a new dice app where you you roll the dice in the app or on the table with physical dice tell it the result then you could look at the 2 ships in combat and see lasers go at each other.

Needs more work obviously just first thought from seeing this post.

I like the idea of each ship card projecting one of those blue Star Wars lookin’ holograms and then when you shoot or take damage the model does a corresponding animation. Will work a lot better once we’re wearing goofy glasses so we don’t have to wave our phones around constantly

I augment reality almost every time I play xwing. The normal method is beer, but sometime I change it up with liquor instead
