Yes?

Again, my arguement is that FFG will not give you free components of future content.

They may(or may not) offer alternatives to buying full expansions in the future. FFG themselves may be unsure at this time. The information isnt available to us yet

What exactly are you trying to correct me on?

You said it wasn't going to be free as if that was stated anywhere including in this thread. You were trying to correct a statement nobody made. While the Wave 1 content is in the conversion kit, nobody has ever stated or implied that it's free, so I don't know why you even mentioned it.

They have outright stated there will be a way to get content from ships that have already been released without having to buy the ship again. Your statement makes it sound like they're being evasive on the issue when the opposite is true, they've been quite definitive that it will happen, but haven't given details.

I am real curious about how many pilots they will include in Large base expansions. Lando's Falcon throws things off with the two ships in there. I will be quite happy if the default is that each expansion has 6 pilots in it.

And really, if the pilots for the Interceptor wasn't a big clue, then I don't know what to say. I am fine with them cutting some content in order to get the conversion kits out and playtested in time for release.

I was just pointing out that this sentence:

You will have to purchase the expansion to get them.

is not true, for the reasons others have pointed out above.

(I'm not correcting you as any kind of 'personal attack', don't worry. Just clearing up one point!)

To elaborate further, 1.0 had Luke pilot so you get Luke 2.0 in the conversion. 1.0 had TLT but 2.0 doesn't so you don't get it. Afterburners is in 2.0 but not 1.0 so it's not in the conversion kit... but is in wave 1 so it comes in a bag with the corresponding faction's kit. Any rerelease ship outside of wave 1 only has content in the conversion kit for pilots and abilities directly transferring to (keeping the same name in) 2.0.

No no no no no. The presence of a similarly named card in 1.0 has NOTHING to do with its presence in the conversion kit. The conversion kits have all the cards from ships released until that point (give or take mess-ups of cross-factions cards), except the cards found in the 2.0 core.

Double post, button wasn't validating.

Triple post... sorry

Either bumped to a future expansion or cut entirely. It's weird.

Remember they also cut him from Rebels as a Defender pilot.

In the original scrip it was apparently supposed to be Valen Rudor but they changed it (probably due to him being a massive, incompetent buffoon) to Vult Skerris (the Skystrike Academy instructor).

What about the Valen Rudor Defender?

We have seen a few images about him, I think he was in the trailer, but nothing else since.

I have to imagine he'll be released when the Defender gets its rerelease.

He never existed. Plain and simple.

The only indication any of us ever had that he was a thing was a CGI mockup in the announcement trailer where he was visible only by freeze framing and looking at some very blurry text.

I said at the time we couldn't infer anything from that because it could have just been a placeholder or a mistake, and that we should wait and see what the actual revealed pilots were. Guess what, Valen wasn't one of them. He was never shown in any preview image, mentioned in any article or said to exist at all in any demonstration video.

He never flew a TIE Defender. He has no reason to be associated with them.

I'm happy to eat my words on all this if it does eventually happen, but my advice would be not to expect it. So far, all the small base standalone expansions have come with four named pilots and two generics (the exception being the TIE Fighter, but that was an exception in 1e too because they're cheap and meant to be flown in multiples). The TIE Defender expansion, when it releases, should logically contain the same - four named pilots, two generics. We already have the two generics, and three named pilots so there is one spot left.

I fully expect that spot to go to Vult Skerris, who remains the only named pilot we have seen actually fly the Defender in canon.
