Recon on Sylluria {MAFIA}

Guys, don’t lose focus. All these thought experiments are very interesting. But to me the smoking gun, the reason we must vote for LP (and this is the first time I’ve spoken this forcefully) is LP’s brilliant power move at the end of the last round. I know, it all happened so fast, but go back and re-read that critical pivot point in our game.

It reaks of LP’s guilt.

* = yes, I accept that that could still prove to be this universe. I just don’t think it is at the moment.

I think he would have a Connery

could you quote it please.

Also If LP is scum, the night kill would reveal such.

It really wasn’t. And it really doesn’t. So please do by all means reread.

@Gengis Jon we have time on the clock. We don’t want to screw this up. By all means conclude it was me but would you please first just try to consider that it could be someone else and see where your thoughts take you.

Maybe you’ll uncover something we’ve missed. Maybe you’ll even surprise yourself. Or maybe (most probably!) you’ll end up still voting for me in which case you still get to keep doing what you’ve been doing since the start! But for Town’s sake, please try.

The alternative is you miss the chance to scumhunt and thus further develop your game if at game’s end I do indeed prove to be Town.

@clontroper5 it’s important that you do NOT reveal or hint or breadcrumb in any way, shape or form who you are going to protect tonight. If I were in your shoes I’d be tempted to roll a dice just to ensure scum couldn’t get a read from me for who my shield was going to.

Right. Here’s my solution:

vote for me. I’m Town but do it anyway. Kill me and eliminate me as a suspect. Then take 24hrs during night to cool off. Then go again with fresh and open minds. Maybe we’ll find that it was Ovi or LTD all along or something! But let’s not let the game descend like this please.

If I could vote for me now I would!

On 9/17/2018 at 4:43 PM, Lord Preyer said:

Ebon - it’s less important to me who wins then we have a good time with players (especially new players on the forum) so even though it may up the risk to Town I’d like you and the others to vote for me now so that the game can continue in what can be a happier spirit!

Because I just want everyone to get along and have a good time and would hate for the game to end on a sour note!

yep I second that, make it random

Were it not for the confluence of Matt as a new player and the heated argument I’d be willing to go against my own gut and vote Matt now just to clear a suspect but that really doesn’t feel decent to me just now.

LP, I gotta say man, you rock. This just continues to fit right into this super-cool, super-helpful vibe you’ve putting out. This is EXACTLY what I was expecting from the scum character I’ve been imagining you’ve been playing.

I, for one, will call you on what I can only hope is one of the best-played bluffs ever.

my vote stands ##vote LP

Then...

While I'll admit at first look they seem off, I'm shifting towards seeing that as town who wants a good game, less scum putting a position forward. I know from the previous game, preyer enjoys a more calm environment, without bitterness

and on him voting Matt, he had too, that or a no vote, and a no vote would've not helped us at all

In fact i'm now more inclined to thinking LP is town

Thank you for your advice. But, for what it’s worth, I’ve already done the things you suggest.

Ive reconsidered many times. I’ve re-read the threads a few times now.

i readily concede the other suspects to varying degrees.

And I remain convinced it’s you.

But, again, thanks for advice.

Don't get me wrong, If LTD flops, I'll be looking LPs way, but I want to give him the benefit of the doubt

Sorry for my absence - at work - you guys seem to write three pages whenever I'm busy.

Catch-up notes - for what it is worth, Gengis didn't vote for PodRacer - that was my error in analysis from day one, that I copy and pasted into analysis for day two.

This is a crazy situation, but I am now more convinced than ever that it is clontroper5.

Follow my logic:

We had two votes on Lord Preyer, with only me, clon, and LP not yet voting.
LP can't vote for himself.
I declared I wasn't voting for LP (REASONS!), and decided to let clon pull the trigger.
Clon, being not-a-twit, did not do it. Why?

If he had killed LP, he would have then mafia'd someone at night, but know that the survivors (two of them!) would then kill him the next day. Clon can't be on a successful train today because he'd be killed tomorrow.

If it ain't clon then it has to be Ebon.

But I'm pretty sure it is clon - the doctor claim is too perfect - and the claim that he protected Matt the first night because he was "vocal"? That makes no sense to me.

Also, Gengis Jon - did you say you came over from the Legion forums?

That's a scumtell right there - we don't serve your kind here!

Guys, I’ll be on a plane from 1430 GMT to roughly 2230 GMT later today (Thursday) so if you want to press for a lynch on me could I ask you please to consider doing so either before I take off or after I land? Thanks!

Have any of the veterans here played a game where LP — or Ebon for that matter — actually were scum?

They both have very distinctive play styles. What I’ve been trying to figure out (without the help of hindsight) is how they would play differently if they were scum. They both seem like super-savvy players, so I’m led to believe both would play — as best they could — exactly the same as they always do.

But, in my experience, when people are lying they’ll tend to be “a little more”, or “a little less” than usual. (The experts, I mean. The amateurs have a whole host of other tells.) By even Ebon’s own account, he’s been a little more. But there’s been IRL stressors, he says. So, ok.

Of course, I have very little to base this on, and I haven’t even asked, but LP strikes as playing a little more LP-ish. He seems a genuinely nice guy. A genuinely helpful guy. And even in the face of my own button pushing, responds cool, calm and collected.

Even likes my last semi-snarky post, in a totally friendly way.

I would be fully on board with you 100% if anyone else claimed Doc

@Gengis Jon @Lord Preyer either of you a doc?

Because I don't believe Jabba would not include a doc with 2 Mafia, 1 Seriel Killer, and 1 Vig.

To not have a doc would be very poor indeed, hence my inclination to believe clon

A flight that long he must be going to visit LTD, now THAT is dedication to mafia

@Gengis Jon I was Scum in this game:

LTD, LP have both played with me as mafia, not sure on the other two though

I know it wont hold much weight coming from me but I tend to be less full on as scum

You ain't getting to Australia in 8 hours - unless you are already in Singapore.

Next game I’m going back to full flavour. @Ginkapo will curse me and it will be AWESOMENESS MEATBAGS!!
