So many misprints in 2.0

By Crabbok, in X-Wing

So I was doing my first 2.0 game last night and my Quickbuild for Lando's Falcon said to use Han Solo as a crew. There is no Han Solo crew card. It's a gunner that comes with it, not crew. We played it using the gunner... but I just keep finding errors all over the place. Way more than usual.

One of the firespray dials in the scum conversion kit had a type on the label, which made it tricky to match up.

The Wave 14 Reapers have the Imperial Symbol on Swarm tactics, even though that is a generic upgrade.

The Wave 14 Saw's X-Wing has a poor glue design, far inferior to the new X-Wings in the core and X-Wing blister, leaving a very noticable difference between how the wings handle.

Makes me wonder what I'm going to notice tomorrow.

For what it's worth I'm still overall happy with MOST of the changes that 2.0 brings - just surprised at how many mistakes made it through.

I think Wave 14 was almost finished when they scheduled 2.0, so they put prototype designs in it. Many of the inconsistencies are addressed in the rule reference on the last page.

Yeah, basically all of the 2.0 stuff feels rushed, but I understand why. I was gonna quit, my friends were going to quit, and the game was going to die without 2.0. FFG basically had a lose lose situation on their hands and I think they chose the lesser of two evils.

Quickbuild cards don't follow standard procedure

You'll see guys with double talents or Fangs with mods, for example

Everything apart from the obviously rushed Wave 14 stuff otherwise seems fine, and has held up in casual playtesting with locals

Sure, quickbuilds break the rules, but a scum Han crew card doesn't exist.

Sounds like rules were broken, then. Good work, everyone. Go home early.

The Wave 14 cards are... horrendous. It's the first time I've written to FFG complaining about a product; the cards (Advanced Sensors, R5, almost anything with a requirement is screwed up or differently worded in some way) and even the punchboard; the non-primary arcs are displayed differently on the Wave 14 cards. There's no doubt a lot of people bought into wave 14 *because* of the 2.0 content (I was one of them). It was enough to make me question my return to the game - I'm still on the fence. The Rules Reference errata to a number of Wave 1/Conversion Pack cards didn't exactly reassure me.

I believe the intent is good, I believe that second edition will do well, and that they're taking a lot of steps in directions I like. But the impression this gives me is of something rushed, where careless slips have been made.
