Just the highlights
William Yorick using monster trophies as clues in combat in order to gain more monster trophies is a bit of a pyrrhic victory. Though Burying Deep a Color from Out of Space is deeply satisfying.
How do you make Vincent Lee into a God of War? By having him start with Cloud Memory, Storm of Spirits and Expert Occultist and then having him acquire, through random encounters, a flamethrower, a Dread Curse of Azathoth and two Shrivellings.
The Mi-Go Brain Case rocks. That is all.
Shub’s stir in her slumber ability can be pretty daunting. If I had a nickel for every time I rolled three successes, but not four, in a combat with a Dark Young or a Shoggoth, I’d have a quarter.
Finn had a Tommy Gun and a Sword of Glory and he still couldn’t cope. On the other hand, he also had a Motorcycle and Hide (I had the best draws ever), so he could pretty much ignore monsters. Though as I found out, ignoring monsters with the Black Goat herald is not a winning strategy. Also, Finn sucks at closing gates.
It’s hard to keep the Terror Level under control when there’s monster surges 2/3 of the time and four monsters in the sky who WILL NOT COME DOWN. If I hadn’t ignored Pagan Rites, I’d have lost very quickly.
Shub awoke from the “too many monsters” condition exactly one turn before William would have sealed the final gate. At least it was a new way for me to lose. (I don’t play final combats any more.)
At no point did an elder sign prevent a gate from opening. The DOR track only received two tokens.
Does anyone else have a hard time keeping track of all the item cards?
