Initiative One Episode 19: But You Have Heard of Us
Listening now at work!
In reply to your wave analysis. I agree, I'm thinking their new printers are working like crazy to bust out these releases. I bet our release waves will increase frequency just due to the revenue they're making off of me alone.
They've missed their other targets by like... half a year most times right? I think they'll be more on target with all the new releases. Super excited.

We sure hope so! A complete game in the fall would be awesome.
So funny moment in the semifinal match against the Waiqar. He used to Corruption runes to fish for immobilize to stop Ravos, but knew Ravos was going to get him no matter what. He had actually considered using the skill to get 4 more trays and then Ankaur kills himself.
Order of operations looks like you add add all the trays and then suffer wounds. So he would get 16HP of Reanimate archers for no real loss. Ankaur dies end of turn no matter what
Instead, he gambled that Corruption runes would do some damage to Ravos so he fired a ranged attack. If the runes had hurt Ravos, he aims the range shot from Maro at Ravos and leaves Ravos badly hurt. With FD, he guarantees 8 damage (it was one Stable token that turn I think). Corruption runes could have e each caused 1. So Ravos could have been down to 1 wound left. He could have probably killed Ravos using corruption runes the next turn then.
That is a very interesting scenario! I love the idea of Maro just sacrificing himself to make a ton of archers - and if you think he's going to die anyway, that's really not a bad option.
I definitely enjoyed my game against Dustin as well (despite my mistake), and was glad to see Corruption Rune in play. It sure is a fun mechanic!
Josh! You forgot to come back to all-American Trucker Ravos!

I tend not to use the regen mechanic with hero Ankaur. So it has never occurred to me to try something like that. I enjoyed it hearing after the fact that that had been his plan.
Im also liking what I’m seeing with running 2X Corruption Rune. The redundancy helps. For a single Corruption Rune, the damage output is comparable to Deathmist or Serrated Spines. At worst, you are basically trading your melee modifier for a random bane.

You are absolutely correct - next time! I need to get to work on that...
Very nice podcast, it's very interesting hearing about other perspectives at GenCon.
And thanks for the compliments! I'm glad I was able to do something new and interesting with Waiqar.
Thanks @DekoPuma ! I wish I had some pictures of the three turns of our game where we went from full armies to almost nothing left on the field.
Yeah, I wish I had taken more pictures. That game was absolutely brutal. There were only two wounds left on the entire table.
