Edited by KieransiWhich Second Edition faction will you fly, if any?
Choose any/all responses. If you chose one of the last two, please don't choose any others
Republic, Rebels, and Resistance for me.
...guess you can call me Triple R.

Well, I didn't see you directions until later, but:
I'm not changing over for Imperials and Rebels (too many ships)
I am changing over for FO (not too many ships)
I must change over for Republic (no ships at all).
So I really am all 3.
Yes.
Sticking with the existing 5 factions for now. I'm going to wait and see how the Republic and CIS shape up after a few waves before jumping into that rabbit hole =_=
Kind of 6. I will be purchasing a converter each for Empire and First Order, but will likely leave it at that. I am planning on keeping up with Scum, Rebels, and Resistance, with the Republic coming later.
Well, that's the plan to start, at least. We'll see how it does in practice.

Probably the same for me..I'll honestly probably dabble in everything.
First Order, Resistance and Republic for me.
Of the 4 new factions, I have selected one. First Order for me. And I’ve done swapping of my pesky Resistance ships such that on conversion kit launch I will be able to nearly fill a kit! (7 FOs, 3 SF, 2 Silencer, 2 upsilon).
That escalated quickly.
Besides the FO, I choose Rebels, Imperials, and Scum - because I’m already in all the way, may as well stay with it! One of each conversion kit on the way plus Lando’s Falcon.
As an era, the prequels pique my interest but financially (and storage!) I don’t see it happening yet. If I buy any prequels, it will almost certainly be CIS. I like the clones and the Jedi and all that, but I’m not convinced the Separatists were the “wrong” side of the conflict after watching the Clone Wars.
Most likely none. The announcement of more factions and having players focus on a few factions more or less killed any interest I had left. In my community, first signs are that it'll increase toxicity and "my way is the one true way" approach to the game.
I liked being able to play completely different games from one match to the next. Having to either specialize or fully flesh out (and pay for) 7 factions are bad choices and I choose to not make that decision.
I've preordered a core set (to get a second damage deck for my oldest son) and a scum conversion kit and I'm left wondering what do?
I guess I'm not a mini gamer, and never will be.
I'll only be converting the Empire, I'm hesitant to convert the few FO ships I have. (two SF and 3 FO). Maybe later I'll start collecting them when more of the faction is revealed with new ships from the Resistance series etc.
I'll be starting the Republic, naturally. Your OT quotes like "Good shot Janson" are no match to the power of my prequel quotes.
I will also buy Maul's ship, and probably a few droid fighters, pew pew. Dooku if and when he comes out (Because "twice the pride, double the fall" is a MUST have quote at my table) So I may or may not collect the CIS.
Still no interest in Scum, although Boba is nice looking. But I will not deal with their kind until Tyber Zann arrives (because... "Everyone has a price".. this is mine)
And I'll die before I associate myself with rebel scum. Of any kind.
Rebels, as always!
...but I might have to dabble in republic...
Empire, and Rebels are obvious (especially since most of their content is already out so little initial buy in aside from conversion packs). I'll likely buy mostly into Republic stuff other then that followed by CIS at least until I get all I mainly want from the faction. Scum, Resistance, and FO will all be on a ship by ship basis.
Probably all seven, although seven factions to collect is ... starting to make me question my completism. (It'll be fine, if it's still approximately the same number of ships. If the number of ships per year doubles, I'll be making some tough choices. It'll just be too much.)
I'll follow the best combination of good gameplay and competitive relevance. Also whatever Interceptor or A-Wing works.

I suspect that we will have a rather quick paced year or two and then they will start to slow down again but they will probably try to pump out some content for the factions to start with at least. If the kit leaks are any indication we will get a wave in November or December and then another in Feburary or so a good 2 to 3 months between waves.

Yeah, pretty much this. I go where the meta winds take me.
ya'll keep askin' these questions ya'll gon' keep gettin' the same answer
Scum and CIS. I like the look of the custom YT-1300 with the MG TIEs running escort and am looking forwards to finally being able to field generic combat droids.
I'm going to be a Rebel main in 2e.
Well, except for the occasional Defender list. Advanced Sensors Ryad? Plus Daredevil? Wow. Maybe a Phantom or two as well. And a fleet of barrage bombers. But that's it.
Oh, and I really like the new Firesprays, plus they're iconic Original Trilogy and all, so obviously I ordered one for 2e. I'll probably just get a Starviper to fly alongside it, because I like the way they look, and a Quadjumper, because ALL THAT JANK. That's all I'd need, though.
Except for maybe Rey. Rey is cool. And BB-8 of course; I guess I can justify flying some other dumb Resistance pilot alongside Rey as long as I just refer to them as BB-8. "What's your Poe's action?" "You mean BB-8? He's going to barrel roll, then acquire a lock." That'll be fun. But that should just about do it for me.
Just one or two Jedi when the prequel stuff drops, because Force mechanics FTW. And although the movie was terrible, I've always liked the N-1, so when they inevitably come out I'll probably have to fly them and do all the barrel rolls. And the Sith Infiltrator is just a boss-looking ship. And while I'm at it, who can argue with Omega Leader? Bow to her I6 majesty!
But aside from that, I'm going to be a Rebel main in 2e.
Ive been a completionist until now. I really don’t think I can keep that up. My callsign at work is DROID, so...CIS will be a thing. Past that, I’m not sure which of my older stuff I’m going to stick with. I’m converting the 5 and waiting to see how they all play.

Just to point out some inherent bias, the title of the thread will not bring in voters of "staying with 1.0" or "quitting."
You need something more neutral like "Your future as an xwing player--vote."

Ok then, fixed that
I'll keep to Scum as my main faction, but might swap to CIS in time if their playsyle fits what I like.
Apart from that, I'll keep collecting Empire, Rebels and Republic.
I have zero fluff-wise interest in Resistance and First Order, so I hope it will be possible to stay competitive while skipping them altogether.
