So, no. No it isn’t.

At least neither of those has been spoken audibly. Later isn't even canon anymore but it doesn't make it less awful, yeah.

At least these two are kind of funny while being awful. Savage Opress is just boring, too on the noise, and awful.

Isn't on the nose kind of the point though? Star Wars is in part inspired by the old serials like Flash Gordon. Clone Wars plays on that inspiration with the recaps and being a little out of order and sometimes not being at all subtle. "Savage Opress" might be awful but it does have for me a kind of charm.

I can see that being a valid argument. I like the character fine as well. Just the name, especially the way it's pronounced, bugs me.

But voiced by Clancy Brown, so, AWESOME.

Clone Wars and The Clone Wars are rather different, the first being done by the guy who made a number of animated works like Dexter's Lab and Samurai Jack and were originally 5 minute little episodes, while The Clone Wars is the CG animated show which is canon. The 2D show didn't have any real time to characterize so it pretty much just told its story through action, lots and lots of action and I believe no Jar Jar at all.

Though, some shoutout to some of the 2D Clone Wars with its intro to Grievous and the whole ARC trooper stuff. Man I wish canon Grievous was this cool.

Needless to say if Legion gets Phase 1 armor ARC troopers I'll be painting one up to look like Captain Fordo (Clone in Red).

We get phase one arc troopers (or even just phase one Rex, I can work with just that), Kal skirata is going to be flying across the battlefield with Ordo and his brothers.

So I've watched a few more episodes (in "proper" order). The clone trooper episodes were pretty good. Binks is as insufferable and cringy as always, and the droid 'humor' is grating at best, but I shall persevere.

Generally Jar Jar episodes aren't the most important so they can be easily skipped. Good to hear you liked the Clone Trooper episodes, they are generally all good stuff and funny when you consider alot of the time it is one guy having to talk to himself and differentiate people who are all supposed to sound the same.

The lack of plot armor for the troopers is a nice change of pace, though the droids do feel rather schizophrenic. They either mow down the troopers like killing machines, or they're completely harmless and goofy. Hopefully they sort this out later, as it's hard to feel tension when the enemy is completely ineffective and are just irritating.

Yea, thats and issue I had with Rebels too since they basically made it so the average storm trooper wasn't a threat. Unless the B1s are in huge numbers and not talking they are mostly just fodder and there for comedic relief. I mean, heck look back to the Rebels episode where Kanan and the others ended up encountering the droids and they sucked at aiming so bad they needed to have 'Jedi' redirect their fire using their lightsabers to hit the Proton Bombs they rolled out for the AT-ATs. Stuff like the BX Droid Commandos though generally are treated as more of a threat.

One series of Jar Jar episodes that are a must are the Mon Calamari ones - it's a solid story and Jar Jar is worth tolerating for all the other good stuff going on. You get to see the political rivalry between the Mon Cals and the Kwarren and Aquadroids are a more serious threat than your basic Roger Rogers.

Just wanted to throw out there, that at one point this was the canonical explanation for how Grevious captured Palpatine and why Grevious was coughing in ROTS.

Honestly, that one is more a padme and anakin story than a jar jar one. Though the gungans do play a part. But it is a logical one for the story, and mercifully free of the clownishness the gungans usually get saddled with.

True, but Jar Jar is in them, so they deserve the fair warning. They're a great addition to the Star Wars story - I've never had so much fun with talking fish heads. ?

So you don't like Star Wars then?
