If you are going to do a "Cardboard" Only Expansion pack, which by the way sounds interesting, it needs to really add some really unique additions.
I wouldnt be against say, a Rogue Squadron Expansion Pack, maybe set up around the Bacta War, even could call it the "Bacta War Expansion Pack". It could contain some new pilots, or old pilots in more lore appropriate ships, like Corran Horn in a x-wing, Whistler, Wedge Antillies with a different ability that would synergize with the other pilots of the expansion, etc, a few Crew Members would be nice, like Booster Terrik, Talon Karrde, and a few new asteroids to maybe represent the Alderaan remains, bacta tankers (Epic Size Cardboard Ships), and then a "small section" to represent a Victory Star Destroyer or a Interdictor, give it the ability to fire shots in a straight line through the map, the blasts moving range 1 per turn, allowing you to attempt to dodge.
There are quite a few unique idea's to add similar to this, such as allowing ally torpedo ships to lock onto a ally, then send them allowing the lock to stop so they go straight into the ISD or Interdictor or whatever you want the cardboard to represent, like I said, great idea, but if they dont really double down on a good scenario inside these packs, with really unique additional cardboard that some of which can be used in normal game mode too, people are not going to want it.
Also, Erisi Dlarit as a double sided Z-96 Rebel // Imperial Pilot, that lets the Imperial field her on the Rebels side at the start, the rebel player can control her, and even fire on imperial vessels with her, until the Imperial Player does "something" to flip her back to the Imperial and set a trap. Obviously you would need to balance this so the Rebel player can possible get some use from her too, instead of forcing the rebel player to just fly her off the board right away as that would just be a waste then.

Maybe if she's destroyed while a Rebel, the Rebels lose the points? Or Imps gain the points? Or however points work in this game?

I was actually thinking of this later, after the post, and maybe the Imperial controls where the x-wing moves, but any action, will be done by the rebel player.
