Never played Epic - need list help with Imps

Hi,

i´m gonna play my first epic game wednesday in preparation for a small epic tournament with some special rules:

- 250 pts
- 3 Epic Pts. min.
- max. 2 large ships
- max. 8 small ships
- 92x92cm mat

Gunner and Fleet Officer are not allowed on Epic Ships.

I want to fly a Raider with preferably Defenders or TIE-Bombers as company.

Proxys are allowed so hit me with your best list for this format!

250 pts is a bit low for defenders + raider so I'd say:

Missile raider

Jonus- unguided, lightweight gram

As many scimitars as possible with either ugr,lwf or EM, plasma torps, GC

OR

gozanti-Dual laser turret,Automated protocols,Courier droid, backup shield gen

As many tie defender glaives with ruthless and either tractor, flechette, or ion as you can. Ugr tie bombers can be filler here.

Hey, thanks for the suggestion, but i have to spend 3 epic Points, so one Gozanti is not enough.

What do you think of this? Isn´t PS6 nice in Epic?

If you're running TIE Defenders with Jonus alongside, you're missing one of the points. You can run him alongside the Raider to be mean, or you can switch to the TIE/D Title to be brutal. Run Tractor Beam, Flechette, or Ion Cannon and run Jonus with the Glaives. Jonus' ability works with Cannons, so let the Glaives have a double tap with two rerolls on EVERY attack.

That'll give you 22 points to use as you will. You could run UR "Double Edge" or a turreted TIE Aggressor as escort for Jonus, or run Howlrunner for maximum rerolls. You could also throw in another Bomber for that pretty easily, but'll have to be a Scimitar to have ordinance worth mentioning.

I'd probably consider dropping Plasmas so you don't have to burn your Target Lock when you fire them. Just fire Harpoons every time. Not broken at all. :P You could free up a bit of space that way for a better equipped ship somewhere in your list.

NOTE: Jonus' ability doesn't work with Unguided Rockets or on himself, in case you didn't know.

I always chucked the plasmas on and flew jonus near the raider.

Lock 1 goes on something in rear arc lock 2 on something up front. Fire rear harpoon then plasma, then fire fore harpoon . Then the 2 primary shots gives me best chance of a kill for impetuous to let me lock for the primaries

Running Systems Officer on Jonus gives free target locks to the raider, opening up its action for coordinate instead.

Sensor team to allow locks out to range 5 can be helpful, but guessing you'll just point the raider up the board and it won't matter.

Swarm Tactics is strong on Jonus to allow the raider to shoot at ps6

Finally, Ruthlessness on double tapping Defenders is absurdly good, particularly as the tractor beam resolves first so move them before handing out splash damage.

I'm not a fan of backup shield generator, I prefer Tibanna gas to get 2 solid recovers from the raider. After that you have pretty much broken your opponent's spirit and list.
