My little boy (7 years old) is super excited about flying the new 2.0 Boba Fett. I can't seem to make a list for him that I feel is good. He excels at combos, but not so much at flying (so I think Fenn Rau is not a good wingmate). Can anyone suggest a good list for him?

We are having a special father/son X-Wing holiday where we organize all the 2.0 stuff and then play at least one game, and all he can talk about is Boba Fett.
I liked Boba + Bossk in 1.0, I see no reason not to like them in 2.0.
Bossk is easy to fly and can draw a lot of attention that Boba can capitalize on. How many rigged cargo fields do you own?

I don't have a YV and won't be getting one. I do have most everything else in Scum though and I have at least one RCF currently.

Not sure if there are too many upgrade cards here. Its hard not to load up Boba Fett as there are a lot of good cards for him. Composure makes failing an action a little more bearable. Eval can flee the board so he doesn't have to worry about that. Contraband Cybernetics are good insurance for if he gets stressed. Still able to action.

Ion Ywings with bombs would work fine. Fett can really capitalize on knowing where the enemy will be next turn, and ywings are forgiving ships.
Go for Guri. A Boba/Guri list got the better of me when my group did mock 2.0 testing. The guy I faced had Han Solo as a gunner on Boba and a Perceptive Co-Pilot as the crew on Boba (marauder Title). Your lad will enjoy that combo, I think.

This does require getting Lando’s Falcon, but Lando crew and Han Gunner are worth it. Even if the rest of the list doesn’t agree with you, I highly recommend Boba with Perceptive Copilot, Marauder, and Han Gunner, like @BDrafty said. It’s real strong.

If he excels at combos...teach him the art of the Jank. Ween him off Boba and let him fly Koshka Frost, 4-LOM, and Viktor Hel!
Throw 0-0-0 as a crew on there somewhere and Boba if he wants
Boba Fett with Marauder, Han gunner, and either 0-0-0 or L3-37 is very powerful and exceptionally forgiving
your action is completely free to boost, you have an aux arc to completely overcome the limitations of Solo stress, AND you get action-independent mods so bump away!
been running him with the also VERY forgiving Palob Godalhi + Moldy Crow + Lando Calrissian + Engine Upgrade
and a simple Cartel Executioner + R5-P8

@piznit, I would try and get him to fly something other than Boba Fett, but somehow he's become obsessed with Boba Fett. I know my name would cause one to think otherwise, but I promise he didn't get that from me!
I would try boba and 2 fang fighters. Would be a nice wave 1 list if you plan on attending any tournaments then as well.

Daredevil lets Boba turn around quickly (cause using Han wont allow him to Talon) and easily navigate through and around asteroids, and get shots on targets all the time.
Guri gets her tokens, but needs rerolls. With that banked barrel roll, and being I5, she can line up bullseye pretty easy with predator.
And an annoying ywing circles about.

I'd add Marauder and veteran tail gunner as well, because shooting twice is tons of fun, and your son will love it if he gets the chance to shoot two targets. Han gunner isn't needed with 0-0-0 crew, and the greens on the firespray are not good enough to handle stress from Han every turn. Han gunner is particularly unnecessary with composure as your ept. While I wouldn't use it myself, composure makes Boba more forgiving for you son to fly. I've also added seismic charges to Boba because then your sone can blow up rocks and go "........BWAAANGGGGG" like in episode 2.
Fickle mentioned palob, and I can confirm he's an absolute monster after seeing him on Junkies stream yesterday. He eats tokens and ships for breakfast, and he's not particularly difficult to fly as he just circles around like a token-munching shark.
For your third ship, let's just add something simple to fly. It should be reasonably sturdy and not have many (or any) gimmicks. A pair of dead-man Z-95s could do the job, but let's stick to one ship to speed up the game and help your son avoid bumping. Fickle's suggestion of a kimogila is a good one (and you can fit Torani comfortably), but I think a smaller base would be better to avoid bumps. You've got a few options for your remaining 52pts:
- Cartel Marauder with hull and shield upgrades is very simple, but might not be the most competitive option
- Kavil with trick shot, R5-P8, Dorsal Turret and Greedo is pretty beastly, but he's got a lot going on with a rotating arc, weird flying style, and two non-trivial charge-based upgrades. Probably too complex.
- Genesis Red with proton torpedoes and shield upgrade seems to hit the sweet spot of power and complexity.
Scyks aren't quite as simple as I'd like, but Genesis Red is pretty straightforward to fly - aim at the enemy, take a lock, and torpedo them. If you get some bonus tokens out of the deal, great. I've downgraded his shield upgrade to hull so that Palob can take Trick Shot, which triggers fairly often with is wide arcs. I considered moving the hull upgrade to Palob as well, but I think it's best on Genesis so that he's less vulnerable to dying with no tokens.

Actually, with seismics in the list you probably should just go shield on genesis instead of trick shot on palob. Less cards to remember that way.
