2.0 dials?

By Commander Kaine, in X-Wing

So, with the rules, costs, upgrade cards and whatnot, it becomes very easy to proxy 2.0, except for the dials... Anybody has a nice hack they can recommend? Ideally, I'd need something that doesn't require a lot from me, like an upgrade to the dial app, or sth :D

I'm not too sentimental about my 1.0 stuff, so if it comes to that, I don't mind converting them. Although, I'd prefer not to.

get a tiny whiteboard for each ship and draw your maneuver on it each turn

There's an app (at least for iPhone) called "Dials for X-wing" that has a way to set 2e dials and reveal.

One small nit-pick about the 2.0 dials. I don't like how you can't see what type of ship the dial is for while setting it. You have to look at the other side of the dial to double check. 1.0 was nice having the ship type named on the dial under the maneuver. I know, nit-picky

Try using dials that are very similar, like using a T-70 1.0 dial for a 2.0 T-65, just treat the three straight as white, and the 2 banks as green/blue.

On the other hand, the old ones were hard to tell apart when they were facedown on the table. (I ended up using a silver sharpie on the back, like “XW 1”.) Due to how much info is on the dial side, can’t really suggest that. Maybe put a letter on the center hub. That said, I will likely be putting little hash marks on the other side to make remembering which is which easier, especially for swarms. Maybe do the same on the maneuver side of the outer ring too.
