Second Edition Heragator

By TasteTheRainbow, in X-Wing

I’m interested in the timing of these two abilities. If I reveal a red hard 3 and change it to a red 1-hard using Hera’s ability, can I then change it to a 1-straight(now white)with Navigator crew?

Hera Syndulla (VCX-100)

After you reveal a red or blue maneuver, you may set your dial to another maneuver of the same difficulty.

Seasoned Navigator

After you reveal your dial, you may set your dial to another non-red maneuver of the same speed. While you execute that maneuver, increase its difficulty.

I don‘t get it. Why is it now white?

edit: nevermind. You change red hard3 - red hard1 - white 1 (treated as red)

should work as you decide the order

As long as changing a dial to a new maneuver is “revealing” a dial.

I can't obviously spot a place it's covered in the RR.

Shouldn‘t the action chain rules cover it?

possibly question, but couldn't find the answer to it

can the VCX get a Vet Turret Gunner if it gets the "Rotate Arc Action" from a turret upgrade?

it's really difficult to get an effective build going when docking only provides a double-tap out of the auxiliary arc

I think this is the Rules Reference passage that helps resolve the question:

"If a player has multiple abilities that triggered from the same event, that player chooses the order that those abilities are added to the ability queue." (pg 3).

So both abilities get triggered, added to the queue in player chosen order, and resolved in that order. So yes, Hera then Season to taste!

Edit: I'm guessing the meat of the question is whether "revealing a dial" is the same trigger as "reveal a red or blue maneuver" or if one precedes the other. On that, the RR is unclear.

I think it can, but I can't prove it. The best RR line I can cite is that actions on upgrades are added to the "standard actions"... but the RR never makes clear whether the build restrictions that require an action have to be on the action bar or whether they have to be a standard action of the ship...

But doesn't the white straight turn red? Since you are increasing its difficulty?

VCX-100 has a blue 1 straight. He referenced it as white to signal it was changed to white due to the increase in difficulty.

Hopefully I can get vet gunner on the VCX. Too strapped for points for gunner Han (and honestly bnot sure why doesn't say "bonus attack"xwing...) And it's already expensive as is

Trying to go for Nien, Saw, Vet Gunner, with Biggs and a docked Sabine

For the building, I think it’s fine. Somewhere in there it talks about the actions from upgrades being added to the ship’s action bar (this is super-relevant to Supernatural Luke and his S-Foils, which is why I was looking it up, but I don’t recall the page reference). The app, of course, will know for certain.

There’s something about Replacement Effects on page 2 and how you can’t double-replace, but neither of these effects seems to fit the bill, as neither uses the words “would” or “instead,” so I think it’s fine.

Well if the ghost can't get Vet Gunner, than neither can the y...

Anyway, I made something like this

Big Hera (ICT + Vet Gunner + Saw + Nien + Shield Upgrade)

Lil' Sabine (ICT)

Biggs (servos)

It's really striking how much stronger I think Boba is when it comes to aux arc ships...but what can you do?

Mods are a problem without a solution so far, so I think you need an Attack Shuttle worth at least half a ****. Sabine zipping around with an ICT seems perfectly decent

oughta experiment with the Sheathe, but I think you'll need the cheapest VCX possible for that

Why not just Nien Numb
