Legion pictures from the FFG case

None of these are mine, just stuff off of twitter but figured I'd show it off here for those who hadn't seen it.

Pretty good looking models for the most part!

Two wookies with those stupid backwards-facing blades? :(

At least Solo looks good from that angle.

I really love the look of the personnel sets.

Crabbok made a video unboxing of Han earlier, and the model looks a fair bit better I feel without the paintjob they went for him in the previews.

Thanks for the link. That is significantly better!

Han still looks derpy; his head and blaster are wildly out of proportion.

The Imperial Officer sculpt doesn't quite do justice to the art that accompanies it -- I think she looks better in the artwork.

And I wonder (comparing Palp to his Royal Guards) why four models are only 2x the cost of one model.

Looking good overall, though!

Yeah I know... Not what I wanted either.

Let's see where this brings us. Astromech droid... Boba Fett... female human character... snowtroopers... I'm one walking plant away from running The Crystal Forest of Goratak in Legion.

Looks like they should be fairly easy to convert with some cutlasses from other games, or even just combat knives.

For the astromechs, do people think they will be a solid piece, just be the body with the legs needing to be attached or does anyone think that maybe the heads will come detatched as well allowing for astromechs having their heads rotated to another angle or side for a different look?

The heads look they are molded with the main body. Hard to tell if the legs are separate.

Definitely.

I plan to buy a couple each of the personnel boxes, but I won't need more than one droid each, so I'll convert one of the wookies to be swinging a droid arm and/or head as an alternate weapon.

Yeah I can see buying the wookies and officers but not Emporer or guards. Undecided about Boba Fett.

Han, Leia and commandos won't be purchased until ewoks come out.

Imperial specialists and scout troopers are a yes for me.

On the fence about an an e-web for a cheap support option - or I’ll just buy more troopers at some point. Haven’t decided if I’d rather have more of the same things I’ve painted or the single turret that has better damage output but minimal mobility.

Not a huge fan of the Fett sculpt. Probably pass (that and as a more amateur painter he’s just more intimidating to get right).

That leaves Palp & RG. Maybe? I’m not sure what my army would look like at that point. I think Vader is usually a better choice than Palp because Relentless, though Palps command card and the extra suppression are nothing to sneeze at.

Scout troopers and Fett are already preordered. I want a sniper and Fett looks fantastic.

The generic commander sculpts are incredibly underwhelming. I'll probably still pick up a box for each side.

Wookies and Chewbacca will be a must have even though I absolutely hate those things.

Palp? Maybe one day. His guards? Most likely, I'd enjoy seeing what a Vader wrecking ball would look like.

I'm buying one of everything because I am lucky enough to have the spare cash and they're Star Wars minis, I'll find a use for them.

@ScummyRebel I understand the concern about getting Boba Fett "right," but nothing says you HAVE to paint him perfectly, or even anywhere close. I know there are more than a few stories from old canon at least of other bounty hunters wearing mandalorian armour to trade on his reputation.

It’s a personal thing I guess. It’s one thing for a trooper to be a little off or imperfect (in fact, my stormtroopers all suffer from dirty combat armor as a way to better mask those issues). It’s another for the stars of the game board. I admit, I cheated by having a friend who’s an excellent painter take on Vader. I did the rest. Veers turned out meh. Not awful but he’s also not as detailed a mini as Fett is.

i know nobody else is going to be overly jusging, but I’ll know. If that makes sense.

I hate the Fett mini but I need it to be a proxy for Feskitt Bobb. So I'm stuck buying it :(

I'm planing on getting Han, 1-2 sets of the Commandos, Fett, 1-2 sets of Scout Troopers, Palpatine and a set of his Royal Guards, Chewie, and likely 3-4 sets each of the personal sets...mostly for the astromechs. If I get a large amount of extra cash I might end up trying to get seven of the personal sets to paint up an astromech up for each X-Wing faction.

I'll likely skip the Wookie Warriors for the moment, and will hold off on the emplacement stuff until I get snow troopers and echo base troopers are released so I can have the troops look consistent as far as their paintjobs go.

Makes perfect sense. I have a similar thing, often worrying about painting something "perfectly." I got over it eventually, realizing it just had to be "good enough." Plus, if I ever have more time/decide to hire a painter, Simple Green strips paint REAL nicely.

Fett's armor wasn't new in the movies, but maybe it is earlier in the GCW so his armor can be more shiny.

I would want to paint him dinged up though. I guess I will wait until Sorastro's video comes out on Boba.

I was pretty happy with how his Imperial Assault Boba Fett came out. If you're planning on buying and painting Boba Fett as soon as it comes out and don't want to wait on a Legion version video, you can pull that up and get to work immediately.

Basing Models for display is ... what, to expensive?!

:( The Basejob of a Model is part of completing the hole thing. not optional IMO

You're absolutely right.. they should have based the models in an elaborate way to distract people from looking at the actual model. ?

We don't even know what the droids do yet, so how do you know how many of them you'll need?
