Oh, trust me, it's not the first time he's shown an incredible deficit of knowledge when it comes to the Epic ships:
?
issue with the SSD is even at its 3/8ths scale to what it should be, its still WAY too big for the board. Its basically going to just move forward, even if it has a way to turn its going to be insanely unnatural looking for it to turn that sharp for it to not immediately go off the board edge.
NebB wouldnt be quite as ridiculous but it would be pretty close, as that image of a scratchbuilt one shows. Its big, very big, but not half the table big.
However i agree they will definitely announce something when they do epic2.0. Probably just a FO/Res huge though since they will be around at the time.

It actually works quite well with the Epic movement template. although the bigger the ship, the more it's back end fishtails with a bank maneuver.
IIRC the SSD maneuvers from the rear base, not the front one. Haven't experimented but it may help it's turning circle a bit.

If you're here, you're one of us. You're just not ready to admit it yet. The first step is acceptance. You'll get there.
15 hours ago, mithril2098 said:personally i've generally figured that this, combined with the lack of an real info on them in the new canon, suggested that the ship were originally civilian, or at least 'demilitarized' when the rebels got them, and the weapons they carried were retrofitted by the rebellion to make a non-combat ship into a combat one.
According to the EU, which has been proven suspect as evidenced by this thread alone, the Nebulon-B was originally designed for use by the Imperial Navy for convoy escort duty. They're heavily armed for a frigate, but they're no carriers. The Rebels jacked a bunch of them to help bolster their weak capital ship fleet.
as if the term "Nerds" was a derogatory term....
You cant insult someone with a term they use on themselves....lol...
Some of y'all get VERY excitable about your pretend spaceships...

^ this guy gets it.
Forget the Nebulon B, I want a Phoenix Home.

Is...this notable? Do you often interact with people who have designed a starship in a practical manner?

You mean, people who work for NASA and design their shuttles? **** no. Who does?
Now, do I mean people who work on their own to design ships? Yes, absolutely. Often, in fact. And I can tell you, I myself am already better than folks working for the guys making Star Citzen, because I don't
FORGET A SODDING MEDICAL BAY
or food storage. Like so many do. It's very frustrating. Another dumb concept: open cargo bays without any storage racks. Even warehouses don't work that way! Sheesh...
Not complete, nor will it be, but this is just a taste of what I do in my free time. CIG can't even do
this
right. Just watch CaptainShack's review on the Constellation! It's shameful. Utterly shameful.

As a science fiction writer and artist, yes, I do and have every single right to.

God Star Citizen's ship design drives me crazy. I especially hate how they just slap kinetic guns (autocannon and rotary cannons) on there with no consideration for where the THOUSANDS of rounds of ammunition are actually stored.
And for having a Newton-based flight physics model they sure don't put as much thought as they should into engine and thruster placement. IIRC a number of their ship designs they ended up having to cheat to get them to fly the way they wanted them to (the Hornet is one example, IIRC).

Which sucks, because the Hornet is beautiful.
But Elite: Dangerous, that game really thinks it through.

And that's only like, a little less than half the undersize- that actually FEELS right honestly.
I think they have to do a Neb B now. I’d buy one, assuming it’s less than 300 quid.
And they should CERTAINLY do a Hammerhead! Ideally using the KotoR design

Ugh, it’s like the ugliest ship in the game! I poop on your Hornet!
Because my Avenger has no loo...

Have they fixed the WASD + Mouse dominance in the Meta game, yet? I haven't checked it out in a couple years, but last time I played you were pretty much screwed if you were trying to use HOTAS + Pedals (I flew a Aegis Sabre for a bit. I REALLY wish there was a snubfighter that was actually useful, because that's what I really wanted to fly).

As an Avid player of Elite, please have my upvote and everlasting respect.
