Rick build

By TheShard, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

I've only watched the first season (IIRC), but that dude doesn't have Presence 2, never in a million years. He can barely get through a sentence without belching and his entire personality is designed to be off-putting.

Back in the 60s when the original Star Trek aired the actors and other people involved weren't exactly unaffected by issues of misogyny and racism. Just getting a (forced!) kiss between a black woman and a white man on the screen took massive, career-risking effort by everyone involved.

Back then, it wasn't surprising for black people to get murdered for daring to look white people in the eye, or for people with hoods and torches to show up at someone's doorstep. Saying that today's society is more polarized glosses over this aspect of history.

When I say "these days", I'm not comparing to the 60's... I'm comparing to like 10-20 years ago.

I'm fully aware of the problems the show had back in the day.

Well I suppose he could have suffered a crit to change his presence stat to 1.

I guess you could call alcoholism a crit.

Haha maybe I'll use gank as the species...

Gank is definitely a good start. Outlaw Tech seems appropriate since he is both of those things, it has plenty of fitting talents and all the right skills.

I would probably throw Scoundrel on as a second spec since it would bolster his combat and deception as well as providing Cool which fits his party attitude and patience. It’s also got plenty of underworld stuff too.

Third spec would be Modder. His ship plays some important roles in many episodes, and he always seems able to convince Morty to do what he wants when they are in it, fitting for the Fancy Paint Job Talent.

Finally he could then have both Tech Signature Abilities, since either would be fitting for the character.

With a Brawn, Agility and Cunning of 3, and an Intellect of 5, he is one crazy character.

Imagine if the mad scientist who ropes a young plucky hero into accompanying him on adventures, like in Back to the Future for example, wasn't treated as loveable weirdo by the narrative but as a child-endangering, anti-social obsessive.

Sounds like a great chaperone for an Imperial SAGroup on an outing.

Sounds like a terrible PC.
