ETA-2 Actis: 5.47 m

Vulture droid: 6.96 m in flight config.

Tri-fighter: 5.4 m

Hyena bomber: 12.48 m in flight config.

So using your thought path the ETA-2 Actis should also be multiple to a small or medium base... I'd rather not.....

Let me expand on this some more.

TIE/ln: 8.82 m

Delta 7: 8 m

You're not wrong. How about an extra-small base?

2/3rds the size of a small base? That could be pretty potent in itself.

Meh, I'm not keen of another two factions to have to get to know to play against. It's doable of course, I have played several multiple faction games, but I did enjoy the simplicity (comparatively) of just having 3 factions. Then there was 5. Now there's going to be 7. Oh well.

I am glad for those people who are hot on the prequel ships though, there are some sweet designs there.

And then there's the whole cutesy robot thing again ?

Oh well :P

I like that for the ultra elite Eta and the elite-for-a-droid Tri-Fighter, but for the Vulture I still like the idea of putting a "flight" of them on a single base. It also side steps the maximum units per squad issue because you're still only 6-8 bases but the virtual ship count is higher as it should be to match the mass manufacturing of CIS' Droid fighters.

Honestly I really don't. They'd end up having to rework the entire game if they implemented the smaller base and the 'flights' as you call them would risk restricting the droids' mobility too much while rendering their capability even more rng dependent than other platforms. No thanks.

Fortunately I'm not designing this system. Hopefully saner heads than mine will prevail ?

Even though the Prequels weren't as great as the original Trilogy, they did bring to the table a lot of beautiful ships. N-1 Starfighter, Sith Infiltrator, the Delta-7 and the ETA-Actis to name but a few.

I am looking forward to there not being a certain list to fly in tournaments. It's going to be hard to have counters for everything. 7 Factions is going to be great.

Actually, I'm pretty sure there will be plenty of flesh&blood pilots in CIS. While fluff-wise the Droid starfighters formed the bulk of their forces, you only have 3 models (Vulture, Droid Tri-Fighter and Hyena bomber), 4 if you include the much less known Scarab. Even the first announced ship is the Sith Infiltrator, not a Droid starfighter, although those are sure to come.

If I had to guess a faction identity, it will probably be an ace (most likely Force-sensitive, something like Maul, Dooku, Ventress or Greivous) and a droid mini-swarm.

Well, we can get the -pede shuttles and the hero ships.

The bulk of the imperial navy is TIE fighters, with some bombers and interceptors thrown in for good measure. Literally everything else is some special snowflake project of someone important, and not a significant part of most fleets.

The Advanced is Vader's ship, the TAP is for the Inquisiton, Phantoms are super special secret projects, and most others are specialist craft that can only be seen in special circumstances.

No star destroyer has a standard allotment of Punishers or Aggressors, or anything like that.

The same can be said about the CIS. Just because they aren't common, they can be used. Heck, it's not like the Scum ships are representative of any organization... The average there is most certainly not the hypermodified, unique, specialized ships that we see them have

Between the Vulture Droids and the Geonosian Fighters, I think swarm is definitely a strong identity for the CIS.

The question now is, will they steal the Fang fighter?

Honestly, and I can understand the game balance reasons behind it, we've not even seen a fraction of the crap 'Scum' pull with their ships. Ya, you'll have the popular stuff sum lucky wet behind the ears nub might pick up if they have the credits. Most of what you'll encounter won't even be as close to stock as the ships in game are. Swapped out weapon systems, bizarre engine mods, the game 'illicits' are a mere shadow of what can be done to a ship. But, like I said, balance. Can't have Z-95s running around with light turbolasers in place of their entire load out, or even let a Scum Y get a sniff of a pair of desruptors with out muckin up the game. :(

Or droid maxi swarm.

I remember Ventress having a super cool starfighter at one point in the Clone Wars.

The Mandalorians are also part of the Seperatists.

These two factions have so much diversity to bring to the table. Looking forward to it. I always wanted a Jedi Interceptor for this game.
