Cannot Get Your Ship Out! August Articles!

Someday you should look at a pelta command and an ISD2 side by side.

A pelta command is almost EXACTLY 1/2 of an isd2 in every way, including overall points.

Maybe the problem you rebels have is not enough double pelta lists?

Difference being Peltas can't go speed 3 and you can use all that dice in one activation.

I am pretty sure he wasn't serious ;)

I think the argument about fleet commands is a bit of a "grass is greener" situation. As a Rebel player, I'd like to have a solid ship that has the added bonus of fleet commands, because as it is, I have to sink an somewhat uncomfortable amount of points in a ship that often needs fixing, to use Eric's words. On the other hand, imperials have little fleet flexibility if they want to have access to fleet commands since they have to sink 120 (?) points to even have access to the thing, with the benefit of a solid all-rounder. In some situations you'll want the flexibility of the Rebel deal, others you'll be glad that your ISD also happens to come with surround sound.

The thinkpiece was a great article. I play exclusively Rebels (for now...), but it echoes my feeling that whenever I go up against an imperial fleet, it will most likely be anchored around an ISD and to be quite honest, even if there is 4 variants of the ship, they all feel more or less the same to play against, flank them if you can, avoid their front arc like the plague. That may also be because I'm a bad player and have a tendency to fly black dice ships, who knows. While I guess it IS thematic for imperials to have a more standardized fleet comp (I guess?), from a gameplay perspective, it isn't that great. It's also one of the reason why I'm not super thrilled about the SSD since, as you said, it reinforces the big ship archetype.

Well, I've been fiddling with a double command pelta with DCaps...

Yes, the problem is that people haven't tried using the correct number of Peltas. The correct number is 2, not 1. If you only use 1, you will fail.

Just like ISDs! (That’s a lie, Raddus sucks.)

I played your list at a SC. It was fun. Got 20 points.

Nice! Leia has more converts!

And no Flav-or-Aid jokes, @Truthiness

More Commander updates!

Jan Dodonna

Clarity updates mainly. Nothing worth noting specifically IMO.

Jun Sato

Entire rewrites and everything. Removed a fair amount on trying to make a Sato squad heavy list worked and heavily borrowed from discussions from friends online/the experience of Steel Squadron (thanks brosephs!). I do recommend just going and reading the article if you want to, there's a good chunk of stuff there. Largely similar skeleton, but fair amount of change to it.

Leaving me left to update (this section is here for my notes, haha):

Garm, Rieekan, Ackbar, Leia (clearly I need to write more on her....), Raddus (I don't think I need to do an intense update, but I could stand for some more)
