Man, US - Mid-Atlantic / NorthEast got screwed for Regionals :-(

By f7eleven, in Warhammer Invasion Community

Couldn't the store running AGoT in Chantilly, VA be persuaded to host the Regionals for WH:I as well?? Pretty please!!!!

No Regionals within an 8 hour drive of DC? Nothing near Baltimore, Philly or NYC!?!?

Where can i find the list of regionals?

It's in the headlines on the Invasion main page.

I agree. I live in Pittsburgh. There apparently is no showing in Pittsburgh that I can find. I would love to play this game more but there just isn't anywhere around me that plays. It's very sad. I don't mind driving a little bit to go to a tournament, but a little closer would be nice.

I did contact FFG to ask if the store in Chantilly, VA, whom is hosting an AGoT regionals, could also host the W:I regionals the same day. The reply from marketing was pretty much, "nobody applied to host near you. better luck next year."

Yeah, the time to clamour and push your locals (or not so locals) to run these tournaments was the weeks prior to last week really. The deadlines been reached, FFGs supplies shipped. Deadlines are deadlines. And given that it was a supply kit that one had to order, with cash money, and not just some thing that can be given out willy nilly kind of necessitates a further need for a deadline

Check it out. I know you guys are discussing a VA area locale, but if I may, I'd like to at least float the idea of an alternative Regional Championship that I can personally guarantee will be so worth the trip. W:I Regionals Orlando: Blood in the Sundemonio.gifcool.gif will exceed almost any expectation of what a Regional tourney for a new, smaller (but growing!) game should be. I'm not so much hyping our gig as I am giving everyone another option to consider, as I can see folks are clearly bummed that there's nothing going on in the Mid-Atlantic area (which I have to say is disappointing, as I am a D.C. native and am sad to hear that we're unrepresented). An exhilarating main event, numerous side events, crossover gaming into other arenas, and, more than any other Regional can offer, Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure and Disney World to rock out at during the off-hours are what we've got lined up. If you haven't already, scope the 'W:I Regionals Orlando....' thread here in the Community section for full event descriptions. Trust me, folks, I've been that dude that was ticked that nobody ran anything where I was living. But I can tell you from experience, some of the best game events are the ones where a group of friends (or even acquaintances!) pack up the SUV or car or whatever you've got and make it a freakin' bada** road trip! We drove from Orlando to Columbus, OH in 2001 for Origins sleeping in the top floor auditorium to save dough and to this day we talk about how killer the whole weekend was. Hit up a post on the 'Regionals: Orlando' thread with any questions and I'll be happy to answer it right away. Give it a thought and see if it'll fit into your May plans.

Hey!!! I'm going to head up to Legends in Towson tonight (4/16) during Friday Night Magic looking for some Warhammer:Invasion games. I know one of the owners plays, but hopefully some other people will see this and stop by! :)
