I surrender. Five minutes ago I just per-ordered a 2nd Edition Core set to get the snazzy damage deck.

FFG met one of my criteria for Immediate Conversion: Prequel ships.

I can't repel merchandizing of that magnitude!

But don't think for a minute I'm tossing the 1.0 pre-errata Palpatine over the railing. No sir, There are 2 Meanies now:

Chancellor Meanie, who flies 2.0 ships in the Republic, secretly sneering that the Sith Banhammer could have made this all avoidable;

and Darth Meanie, who still flies old-school 1.0 Galactic Empire ships without a conversion kit because TIEs are meant to be cheap and disposable.

It seems I can have my cake, and eat it too.

I'm still holding out. I haven't seen anything I like yet. If they release models I like, I'll convert them to 1.0 via Strange Eons.

The Mining Guild TIE is mildly intriguing but it's too late. I probably would've bought a couple under 1.0 rules. Come to think of it, I could've bought custom Mining Guild TIEs but didn't. So, I guess I'm not really that interested after all.

I mean, nothing is stopping you from flying them in 1.0, they are more or less just Tie's with a slightly worse dial and can ignore asteroids while moving.

Yeah, if I had your investment in custom stuff, I hold there, too.

Still, I'm actually not kidding about the 2 Meanie bit. I'm not going to waste my money changing over 1.0 stuff. When I play Empire, Rebels, and old Scum, it's going to be with 1.0 rules, or at least 1.0 gear + the app.

But, since Republic and Separatists will be 100% 2.0, I'll buy a Core Set.

Already, I am wondering how a 2.0 Republic vs. 1.0 Empire battle would work out, since I never played 1.0 broken stuff anyways.

I had been holding strong on the fence with no 2.0 preorders. Then the barrage of news and the clone wars and the levee broke. You win FFG. I preordered a boatload of 2.0 tonight. FFG had the high ground the whole time and now my willpower is just a stunned, scorched torso waiting for Palpatine.

I too was on the fence and leaning towards not making the jump. But now I'm all in, glory to the Confederacy! Wooooooot 2.0!!!

I guess they'll make a Core Set for the prequels, perhaps?
