Cards and their value!

I'm shooting for 15 decks, as I want one of each possible deck with Logos...... at least I think that's how the math works for that

I want the four horsemen, any info about how rare decks with them will be?

So mavericks are very rare. Heh, I had expected them to be more common so they could make even more unique decks.

Unclear. It seems that Rarity doesn't matter as much as the article surrounding that said that decks will average 3 rares but may contain more or less as rarity is not indicative of the power of a card. It sounds like they are trying to keep to the theme of the deck so if 4 horsemen is the theme you are likely to see all of them, but, if Sanctum is the house, you might get one stray horseman if the theme is not tied to them.

I would suspect that if you see Death in a pack you are at least going to see one other Horseman, or what's the point?

Well, getting hit by famine and pestilence and not being able to die would suck. :)

Everytime I hear about getting less than 4 horsemen I keep thinking of Discworld.

They actually had a 5th one named Kaos, but he quit before they became famous.

Yeah I think thematically the 4 Horsemen decks are probably have the potential of the getting a lot of internet heat.

If you don't crack open all 4, in the same deck, some people are going to lose their minds, when really you could essentially rename all of them and only Death other horseman to be relevant. War doesn't give a crap and will just get others to fight. Pestilence is fine with the other armor creatures of Sanctum, What does Famine do again?

I have no idea what any of them do (yet)! I read " four horsemen are in the game" and I went into fanboy mode.

Wizkids did something like this too once, except they were ultrare, kind of like finding the golden ticket in Charly and the chocolate factory.

Death gets back your Horsemen from the discard to your hand

Pestilence pings every non-Horseman for one on Play/Reap/Fight

War can make other people fight as if they were part of the active house

I can't remember what Famine does......oh wait, found it

Famine has Play/Reap/Fight destroy least powerful creature

So yeah. Only Death requires other horsemen to be relevant. All the others could potentially show up in decks by themselves and still be on target, thematically.

Hey guys saw that you were talking about the horsemen and just wanted to leave a little note. On the discord they’ve been tracking a lot of the decks that were released at gencon and have a relatively solid idea of how parts of the algorithm work. The relevant part here is that one of the horsemen is available as a rare, the other three are a special rarity. So if you get the rare horseman in your deck the algorithm will automatically use 3 other sanctum slots in the deck for the remaining three.

May I kindly suggest watching on e-bay for ayone that wants "X" specifically. If you're gonna buy unopened decks in the hope of getting all 15 combinations of Logos decks or the four Horsemen, you're gonna be in for a rough time almost certainly. Well, not even almost, you're gonna go into debt big time, but looking on the bright side, you can build a pretty awesome shelter from all the cards and packs you got that didn't meet your expectations ;)

This is true. I mean we don't know how rare such things will be in the procedural generation. That said, the nature of the game itself might mean that we see a flood of throwaway decks that'll match someone else's desired criteria. 4 horsemen in a single deck being easy to find and/or purchase for cheap seems like a long shot though. Still, over the course of playing sealed events and buying a deck here or there, there's a good chance your faction combos will be satisfied eventually. Just depends if you want them all now! Haha.

If you're friendly with the owner of the local store, you'd be amazed at the kinds of deals you can get on your pre-order. Having a few friends who are interested in the game, but, who are not as high on the same houses as you are doesn't hurt either

Bought only two decks to try things out.

Lucky you. About 1 in 40 seem to be Horseman decks.

With 7 factions you need to get 30 decks.

1 (Logos) x 6 (7 factions - Logos) x 5 (the remaining 5 houses) = 30

Glad I'm not your wallet. Logos is a fun faction so far!

You are counting the same combination two times. They are only 15.

Which faction am I counting twice? Normally there are 210 house combinations, derived from 7x6x5. By making one faction mandatory that leaves 30. 1 x 6 x 5 = 30. Factorials are like elementary school maths.

Here, the order of the house combinations doesnt matter, its the same if you get Logos+Shadow+Sanctum or Logos+Sanctum+Shadow. So, its not a factorial number.

Am I the only one that finds it a little sad that the game hasn't even released yet and people are already worried about a secondary market? What happened to buying a game to play and enjoy? Not hope I pull something good so I can sell it for a profit.

End rant.

I can understand people discussing it, since a lot of people playing this are coming from other collectible card games. I was interested in the game specifically due to the fact it is kind of fighting that aspect of card games. I am sure there will be some sort of secondary market for decks that perform well or have sought after combos, but i really dig the idea of going to buy a 10 dollar deck if i want to play something new. whereas in MTG i would be spending several hundred dollars on singles for something that is competitive.

You can play Magic without investing hundreds of dollars. Did you really not consider how expensive KeyForge might be when you’re forced to buy an entire deck all at once?

You can't buy the same deck that another player. I don't think that a lot of people want to pay a lot for a deck.

I was hoping the game would have little to no secondary market but it's already begun. I can understand decks selling for a good chunk of money before the game released. But you can find decks being sold for $50+.

This really does hurt my interest in the game. One of the big draws is that "he who spends the most money wins" was something I thought this game would reign in.

It doesn't help that interest in my era is pretty much nonexistent. I think I'm done buying anymore unless they release an online app that allows me to use the physical decks I've purchased.
