Cards and their value!

I was hoping the game would have little to no secondary market but it's already begun. I can understand decks selling for a good chunk of money before the game released. But you can find decks being sold for $50+.

This really does hurt my interest in the game. One of the big draws is that "he who spends the most money wins" was something I thought this game would reign in.

It doesn't help that interest in my era is pretty much nonexistent. I think I'm done buying anymore unless they release an online app that allows me to use the physical decks I've purchased.

To be fair I don’t think that market will play out the same as other CCGs. I mean in deck building you get to customize every single card in the deck. The odds of anyone actually finding a deck for sale with every single card they want is astlower than another CCG where they can just go buy singles of. This means far more expensive to get the exact deck you want if not impossible and that means far fewer people using this market to acquire their decks, thus more variety at competitive which makes meta that much less effective since it’s harder to predict what others will be playing.

*shrug* just something to think about.

Yeah the game is brand new and whatever the market is now isn't a good example. Prior to release, a small group of people were willing to pay a lot for decks so they could play early and scan in decks to Table Top Simulator. Now you see people listing decks based on the number of rares, which is silly since a lot of rares are garbage. Others are chasing cards like the 4 horsemen, but that too will even out as more decks are opened and supply meets demand. No one really has enough experience to look at a deck of random Key Forge cards and determine the power level at this time, at best a few understand certain powerful commons and uncommons.

One thing that could keep prices high for a bit is if FFG can't keep up with demand, but I'm not confident that will be an issue. The market for this game will settle out in time.
