Purrgils as Obstacles?

By TasteTheRainbow, in X-Wing

Well they’re in the scum TIE image, so I’m just going to assume they’re coming soon.

I think I’d have them maneuver after dials are down based on some kind of random spinner. And damage nearby ships when they “flee” to hyperspace with either a roll or by leaving the board. And I’d have them actually obstruct movement like a ship(dealing a crit automatically) instead of overlapping. Obviously, lists with Ezra are immune.

Show me your best version of this obviously-awful and unlikely idea.

More types of obstacles, and effects would be cool. Not sure about space worms, but whatever.

Purgill (Rebels) are different from space worms (Empire Strikes Back).

In any case, it's obvious this will not be obstacles, so it can instead be the 8th faction - Space Monsters! We've got:

  • Mynocks
  • Purgill
  • Exogorth (the ESB worm thing)
  • Summa-verminoth (giant creature near the Maw in the Kessel Run from 'Solo')

I’d buy all of it. Anything to spice up the game. Truth be told, I already have 3 XWM-scale Purgill and 2 Exogorths, courtesy of aftermarket customs.

not worms...whales! Totally more realistic than worms!

Wrong scale. These things are big enough to take down a Star Destroyer, after all.

Purgill come in different sizes so perhaps a two model pack, one for a medium base and one for a large base.

How would they move. Slowly.

Speed 1 banks and straight.

All speed two standard manuveurs.

You could fit all those maneuvers one a custom eight sided die like FFG already use.

That generates a moving obstacle.

Treat the medium purgill as a debris cloud (stress and damage on a crit)

Treat large purgill like an asteroid. But roll two die?

Derp, forgot about those.

Guess we should add the Tibidee, too.

And, heck, the Vong while we're at it. ?
