Wookies up

By Gengis Jon, in Star Wars: Legion

Special Forces direct action melee brawlers...actually makes me not hate the swords.

Unlike the Rebel Commandos' tendency for stealthy infiltration and sabotage missions, the Wookiee Warriors prefer more direct confrontations. As you might expect, their massive strength serves them well in melee combat and their Ryyk Blades make them all the more deadly. Each Wookiee wielding these weapons contributes two black dice to a melee attack, making them ferocious opponents up close.”

That bowcaster does average approx 1 damage with impact and pierce. Nice

White defense dice with no surge? Yeesh.... at least they ignore terrain and can climb.

Yeah, but red D-dice for rally ain’t bad. And free melee attack is super dope.

Curious about those upgrade cards too — looks like fragmentation grenades and some kind of recon gear.

No arguments there. Free attack action is always good, depending on how many models are left by the time it engages an enemy. The unit is very unlikely to get pinned, and "Duck and Cover" might be good as they have a very good chance of dropping the Suppression when they activate. Something to give them Scout would be good.

im surprised they even have a ranged weapon at all (except the upgrade mini)

I expected 3die melee, no gun. Or 2die melee with some mean rules backing it up. Not just 2 black dice with no rules (assuming none of their inherent rules affect combat, i cant read them)

Also i just noticed the last image has 5 wookies. All different sculpts. Huh? Either its the angle playing a really good trick on me or one of the bowcasters arm is raised noticably higher.

The 5th Wookie is Chewie. It's the normal group shot FFG does of the Commander/Operative and the unit that is releasing alongside it.
