Nah, FFG would charge 500 for one of those too....
Would you like some pretzels to go along with this salt?
... but the cookie would come with a bunch of cards with badly worded text no one can understand. I mean, bonus right?
Boooooo.
Its expensive but not so ungodly so, you are getting a bunch of plastic there. Of course there is no one forcing anyone to buy it, and if you are a rebel only player then while it sucks to seemingly not get anything this next release think of it as 'hey at least I don't have to spend $200'.
So edgy! The man has been stucketh too!
And other comments made by capitalist drones.
Well wait for a week or two after its released then see if any collectors who've brought one to sit on a shelf want to sell the card stuff to offset some of the cost....

And the point of your griping is...?
COuld we have "toxic" markers next to threats in the overview (instead of "hot")?
Okay, here we go...
http://www.korbanth.com/non-sabers-model-props/ssd-model-kit/
https://www.shapeways.com/product/R7XA8JZ2A/armada-super-star-destroyer-executor-3-parts?optionId=59750924
https://www.stardestroyerproject.com/super-star-destroyer-1
https://www.therpf.com/f11/knightwire-super-star-destroyer-5-761-fibers-72919/
These are the major SSD model makers on the market right now. The first, Korbanth, is probably the only one I would even come close to considering a commercial version, as it is regularly (relatively) available and only costs
$400
for the unassembled/unpainted bits. Next down is our very own Mels, which for a comparative version (size & quality) you're looking at
$650
....
The other 2 are custom made high end resin kits, both which sold for for over $10,000. (I actually keep in contact with the SDP guy, we've talked about an ISD I commission in the past.)
No offense, but seriously if you have a problem with the SSD, you can
cram it.
The rarity of a model of this quality and size makes the $200 price worth it
alone
. Add that it can be used in standard play in Armada, and has a plethora of new cards and even a new game mode.
Just you shut your beautiful face, sir.
For that price though I could buy 4 star destroyers, which gives me 44 hull points and 32 Dice in the front arc. Plus. double arcing something the size of the table is pretty easy, making it more like 48 Dice. Just saying when you start comparing dollars to dice pools it's a little over priced.

Bit you could also look like that at glads and isd
glads run mostly for twenty bucks conpared to the 50 buck isd so you’d cheaped out 10 bucks per isd and 40 per ESD equivalent to two additional glads
after all you couldn’ Field those numbers anyway

It's only fair though to use MSRP.

True
than take raiders, they also have 4 front die and loose some hull but gain speed on the other hand

Raiders are also the worst ship in the game so I'm P sure this kills any raider before it can even shoot.
We were going die to price/hull to price ratio
and raiders should be able to dodge that front arc, one would think

Price to hullpoints means you get 40 raider hull points for the ISD's 200 (raiders are what, 20 bucks?) But those things are made of paper so who cares. Now Arqittens? At long range? Now we're talking a spam!

It depends a lot on other factors that haven't yet been spoiled (we're waiting until Friday). One would assume the strongest dice are towards the front, so a sneaky corvette-style ship would need to go for the long run-around to get towards the rear, but it stands to reason that would do just fine. It seems far too long to jump straight over like you can with other ships, but around the sides should be fine.

So you think a raider swarm could work?

Raider swarms
right now
can work but you've got the bad double Cymoons Vader matchup. I wouldn't think it would get that bad with an SSD (given there's just one arc you're dodging), but it still probably helps to have a heavier ship in there (like a Glad, at least) to twist the knife once the defense tokens start getting overheated.
With a double brace, double redirect, and double contain, it seems like single big sledgehammer attacks from a beefed-out large ship aren't going to be as effective as they would be otherwise, as locking down enough meaningful defense tokens will be tough. Overheating defense tokens is much easier with a swarm of smaller ships and/or squads.

Ok, good to now
