Silly SSD you got me... What did I miss?

By Lyraeus, in Star Wars: Armada

So, I have seen many things it seems but always in passing so I am behind. I think the last thing I was in to was when the Phoenix was out so I figure there is a BUCH of things I have missed...

Of course I have to ask, can squadronless work still or do I have to try and reinvent that?

Triple Cymoon is a thing.

... Am I allowed to go "I made that a thing back in the day! *waves cane*"

It's an Imperial Class Star Destroyer variant from the Chimera expansion.

Wait... the Wave V Pelta Phoenix Home? So that means you have also missed Sloane Aces, BT Avenger, and Raddus Bombs.

I think those were coming out and I got to play with the second wave of Fighters so I might be wrong. I have no clue was it wave 6? No idea. I never got the Chimera. I think it was @clontrooper who was still away on a Missionary trip

Yeah, that was Wave V. Got two waves of meta rise and fall to catch up with before the big guy drops. And @clontroper5 got back last month, perfect timing for FFG to get his permission to release the SSD.

O. O what else did I miss?! I remember hammerhead article being released and going "awwwwwwwww they missed so many chances"

We have these things called forums... you may have heard of them.

Go start reading...

Shhhhh I like reading various opinions to get an idea of what I should delve into.

On a side note, have you heard about Our Lord and Savior Dodonna the Oppressor?

Lyraeus, I'm still subscribed to your YouTube channel, ... waiting for a new video! I think i'm still subscribed!

Make it so!

Wait... People still wait for my shenanigans... This might actually occur... Maybe with SSD games.

I would read up on the Quasar, the Hammerhead, and the MC75 (+Profundity title) for ships, as well as Admiral Sloane, Commander Sato, and Admiral Raddus. Would also check out the past and current meta lists of Boarding Troopers (BT) Avenger, Sloane Aces, and the Raddus Bomb. I would also check out the newest FAQ and Tourney regs, as a lot has changed in the last year (Only two flotillas in a tourney fleet, Relay nerf, Gallant Haven/Yavaris nerf, etc.). I think that will give you plenty to look over.

Only 2 Flotillas? That was my sweet spot. Hmmmm I think there was a few changes to Yavaris such as no more "free moves" and double taps right?

@Lyraeus ...your DTO build is VERY viable these days! There are even some nice upgrade cards I think you would be interested in. Also, I have a feeling you will want to replace your last Liberty DTO list with a MC75. It is very nasty!

What... This sounds tasty. Care to elaborate while I go check the Armada Builder?

The fact you remember the lists brings a tear to my eye... People care

I looked into it. It would definitely play into the list but I would worry at the lack of mobility... and then I remembered I only really use Nav commands.

Lots of options

For those wondering who this chap Lyraeus is, here's a battle report prepared back when Captain Weather was still suckling at his mama's teet.

He is also behind these... somehow.

Not wanting to make firewood, @Lyraeus. It just happens it was one of the very first discussions I read here when I started. And those pictures were so much fun and amazing.

@Ardaedhel brought them back on the Rules Discussion subforum as you arrived, just by chance.

Yavaris was explicitly (and finally) ruled to say squads attack twice if they did not move at all, meaning you can't cheat with Fighter Coordination team to push them into place. Rieekan also must select only one ship or unique squadron to preserve after death; it's not every named ace or starship in his force anymore.

Hasn't stopped the deadly potential out of the list archetypes though. Your fighters will probably already be in position from last turn's fighter phase, and if you start your escort deaths with Wedge, Rieekan still works just fine. Yavris still appears on major top tables, and Rieekan carried the day at Worlds day 2 this year (in response to Raddus Hyperspace-assault-in-a-can-except-with-big-ships bombs).

Dont waste your money here. You did well by quitting before the HH you dodged that bullet. Armada tabletop game has developed to an Imperial fanboy community lurking into new strategies to blow rebel scum up with the support of developers. Now they know is completely dead and release that super stupid broken thing for 200 knowing the 80% of the community, the imperial community, will buy it handsfull. Not only 1 but also 2 or 3 of them each, so they can retire and close armada for good.

Put your money in Legion while is playble, we still have chances on the ground.
