Not so much
but the Viscount class star defender might be what you want

You just gotta make sure they're overzealous with their ISD backup.
I think the TRUE SSD counter is the friends we made along the way a list that focuses on killing big ships dead.

Built, not used, before the Military Disarmament Act. Was not in the OT or TFA, but made its first appearance in TLJ. Always go with high canon when available. Seriously, do you think people associate the MC85 with the Galactic Civil War or the battles of the Sequel Trilogy?
Yes because it's not that unique looking of a Mon Cal ship.
StarHawks were also built into the war and rushed to Jakku so who knows if the MC85 class saw combat. Probably. The war was intense and widespread.
Hard canon is its an old ship, it's the entire point and charm of the ship.

Massed fighters Yavaris B-Wings with Rieekan, BCC, and candy.
Raddus Ordnance MC75 dropped double-arcing into one of the flank arcs.
Done.
Besides if you really don't want something shot at by an SSD, take Lando. You'll live. Even if you lose a token you wanted, there's Wallex. If you want to outgun it, there's Ackbar. You have everything you need.

Not trying to get into a back and forth argument, but I think you missed the point of that discussion. I was trying to illustrate that while it’s not as well known, the Aftermath novels provide a good ship and SSD Counter that served at the Battle of Jakku in the Starhawk, whereas the MC85 Raddus from TLJ is only present in the GCW be because of an illustrated guide. Additionally, I have to disagree that the MC85 is more associated with the GCW than the sequel trilogy. Not in the OT, the Aftermath novels, or anything other products associated with the GCW, but has a major role in TLJ.
Edit: What do you consider hard canon? Was under the impression that was just the movies.
Edited by Admiral CalkinsI don't see how the MC85 could be a counter to the SSD. The MC85 is 3.5km long and the SSD is 19km, more than 5 times larger.
I'm mainly a Rebel player and I don't really want the rebellion to get something that big. If we do get a Rebel ship with the executor wave then I'd hope it to be a smaller ship like the DP-20, which is what the rebellion is more known for, smaller, faster ships.

What about throwing a lot of rocks in front of it with a Grav shift then Konstantining it to speed 1 so it moves glacially over all of them each turn.
Good luck SSD with your one Chart Officer. Just a shame the only way to use Phylon Q7s against it is from another SSD.
I wonder if the SSD may have some upgrade allowing it to shoot an obstacle into dust? Otherwise the huge base size could be a problem. Wulff to get a repair token each turn to repair one hull could be vital as you are going to be landing on asteroids often and sometimes for several turns in a row from the same rock.
I find this solution pretty funny but, I would use Motti and bring in the SSD front arc one goz-tua-ecm, maybe slicer tool. 2 rounds of debris hitting guaranteed more with some planning, Maybe better than trying to get 2 med/lrg ship in firing range or maybe not... but at least this would be a lot of fun !
