The SSD counter...

Lets just nip this in the bud...

I'm betting they drop the MC85 to go with this bad boy.

Doubt it. Different periods. If they include the MC85, suddenly we're into First Order and Resistance territory. And I'm willing to bet that if they add more factions, they are going to do Clone Wars first.

It has barely any guns, at least on the Raddus.

Star Hawk is the hard counter

FFG should give us the first official look of it, that would be cool.

Or an A-wing.

It's called an Awing folks.

It is, but I'm pretty sure someone actually has to create it first though. Don't think anyone has actually put out any concept art on it.

Edit: Sorry, VC Ken, this was supposed to be agreeing with you.

I mean the same could be said about the guppy and raider before they became ships for Armada and Xwing (raider)

Well, the Guppy was in Empire at War, but I get what you are saying. I would love for them to create it and have it in this wave or the next, as it would basically give them an ISD equivalent.

It's like they knew what would temp me back...

Don't forget the Viscount Star Defender.

Star hawk would be the best rebel ship to face an SSD if you brought 3 of them and some backup.

I suspect a medium Rebel ship with an couple of U-Wings.

I think it already has a hard counter: Cham Syndula.

You're probably right, but come on FFG. Like they could have put some kind of MC85 into commission some time during the very gradual transition from Alliance to Republic.

MC85s were built at the end of the GCW and so technically part of that era, as far as I know.

In an Imperial list v SSD...

What about throwing a lot of rocks in front of it with a Grav shift then Konstantining it to speed 1 so it moves glacially over all of them each turn.

Good luck SSD with your one Chart Officer. Just a shame the only way to use Phylon Q7s against it is from another SSD.

I wonder if the SSD may have some upgrade allowing it to shoot an obstacle into dust? Otherwise the huge base size could be a problem. Wulff to get a repair token each turn to repair one hull could be vital as you are going to be landing on asteroids often and sometimes for several turns in a row from the same rock.

Might this be a use for repair crews?

I mean you could effectively shield the flotillas by deploying the ESd angled and then the flotillas on the far side from the enemy

add thrawn for more dials

I don’t think the rebels will or should get a ship equal to ssd. I’m looking forward to taking the ssd on. It should be a lot of fun. I don’t think this is considered a wave though. X wing would release epic ships outside of traditional waves. I suspect it will be a bit longer before the rebels receive a new ship. I suspect late spring or summer 2019 for a real wave release.

To be pedantic, canonically the MC85 is Original Trilogy era as well - just about. The Raddus is meant to be a really old ship by TLJ, built during the final stages of the Civil War. Although thematically it would be Sequel Trilogy era.

From Wookieepedia: "It was used by the Resistance during its war against the First Order. It was one of the last ships. built before the signing of the Military Disarmament Act by the Galactic Empire and New Republic" - From the Star Wars: The Last Jedi Incredible Cross-Sections

Built, not used, before the Military Disarmament Act. Was not in the OT or TFA, but made its first appearance in TLJ. Always go with high canon when available. Seriously, do you think people associate the MC85 with the Galactic Civil War or the battles of the Sequel Trilogy?

fingers crossed!

Was the MC85 supposed to be SSD sized anyway? I figured it was just a little bigger than and MC80.
