They're already starting - well, as comments in the (otherwise) happy threads.

Mostly people griping because they were proven wrong, IMO.

I'd only be unhappy if rebels get nothing of something weak.. (Still getting up to speed on the news)

And I'm holding reservations till a full reveal such as ship points and admiral abilities, but we have news and that means Armada is aliveeee

I see this as revenge for Ackbar toasting Imperial heavy-medum lists back in wave 2. Took a while, but here it is: Empire is unmatched supremacy of who has the bigger ship guns.

Now let's see if it makes a difference in a universe full of and fighters and kinda flotillas.

Your solution didn't save us fans of medium-heavy ship play- we couldn't outgun Ackbar with sheer quantity of battery. Nothing your list did helped those who enjoyed running large batteries to win games, but it was the strategy that was needed to break Ackbar's ascendant dominance. This and Rhymerballs is what turned the tide, but the strategy of bringing bigger batteries to the table was effectively dead.

Fighters and small ships have been kind of dominating the game ever since, up until the latest wave. Now the SSD is going to step in and likely be the last word in largest battery exchanges- as it should be. It didn't make sense to me that the rebels were outgunning the Empire just because Ackbar's ships were broadside.

Some of them did. Some of us got too hipster cool to play Rieekan and kept playing Red Fish. And with this announcement, I'm looking forward to running him again
