Man same here, I had liked the mechanics of Legion but passed on it entirely because FFG has done the original trilogy and Galactic Civil War to death. But now, now I don't know what to do. Grievous and battle droids is so hard to resist!

The officers are really good. Two units with officers will be a good anchor for a force.

The best part about the clone wars is that its gonna bring all those people who grew up with the prequels (not me) and those who grew up with clone wars (me but im already in the game). This is really funny though. I said to my brother that if they ever make clone wars stuff for legion I’ll get it relatively quickly and if they made clone wars stuff for armada i’d buy in instantly

A number of friends are excited about Clone troopers and CIS though, so if it gets them playing, I am happy. The problem for me is that they are different time periods and therefore I find it strange to think of rebels fighting CIS. Hence, I will likely buy into all 4 just to avoid mirrors and out of time period battles.

Well, aside from named commanders:

CIS vs Rebels or Empire - Rebels or Empire stumble upon a reactivated droid force. The Droid Gotra is a thing and the episode of Rebels where Kalani shows up proves the Empire likely ran into it every so often based off one of the trooper's comments.

Republic vs Rebels - Clones being sent in to take down insurgent forces, be it as early Imperial days, or as them dealing with forces like the Umbarans that were working with the CIS.

Republic vs Empire - Clone Revolters ala the Classic Battlefront 2 mission where Kamino rebelled against the Empire.

So this would make sense though. Papa Palps was the first to be announced as Q4, call that October. Now you got the Wook Squad and the Specialists as the next annoucement named as Q4 as well, call that November/December.

So ASSUMING they follow the 1 set a month rule...That's your 2018 there. Im betting money that Sep's/Clones wont be until Q3 2019, leaving 6 months to fill out other "expanded" units for the Galactic Civil War, (Rogue One units, etc)

How does that work exactly? I think of those people as being the same generation.

Wasnt old enough to watch prequels when they came out but old enough to watch clone wars when that came out

I want to see some Droidikas as well. Also variants on the super Battle Droids with rocket arms.

I was 7-13 years old when the prequels were being released (1999-2005). Someone who was 7-13 years old during the run of Clone Wars (2008-2014) is nine years younger, and would’ve been too young to see the prequels in theaters.

Neither ugly nor hated in my case. I know plenty of my gradeschool classmates who haven't gotten old.

And "too young to see [something] in the theater" doesn't mean much in these days of easy media access.

Not really, been moving around the past few years, had a great shop winter before last. Plus finding a shop with a decent community has proved a quicker way for me to get into a game than me finding friends(which is a slow process)

Count me in as an other victim of the news that the Clone Wars is coming to Legion!

I once said to a friend that if they were to include the Clone Wars army, I would join in and build myself a nice droid army!

What else would you have them do? Nothing new for Star Wars has been released since 1998 except Rogue One. I am hoping we get models based on the Brian Daley novels. Or maybe either/both the quixotic Jedi characters from the Marvel comics!

They're actually providing a pretty good basis (in models) for people to do IA crossovers. Something along the lines of five Imperial Assault PC proxies off the top of my head, are already out or announced. I'm getting kind of excited thinking about doing a way-too-involved Star Wars crossover campaign next summer after a bunch of this stuff is out. Try to shut down the landing pad in IA to deny the enemy from getting more reinforcements or whatever. Now that it hit that tipping point that we have enough models for an entire Imperial Assault rebel party.

I could see Clone Wars having some good alien monsters for me to paint up though.
