Thank you. ~You've just been awarded a bye straight into the elimination rounds. happy.gif

~i really don't think that's going to help dan much lengua.gif

I suppose it would be respectful if we at least seed someone from the southern parts of the US into the elimination round since it was going to be crowded with only northern players... other players from Dan's area just don't seem to carry the same skill/experience he does...

On another note I also like the logo! gran_risa.gif

~Any chance that you can just avoid pairing me against Lanni?

In all seriousness, I'm really looking forward to this event. I (unfortunately) haven't done nearly enough playing to have an idea about what's going to be dominant, but I'm excited that this regionals season will be the first in a long time in which multiple houses will be very competitive. (I know other houses have done well in the past, and GJ won GenCon last year, but I still don't think the playing field was that level in most cases.) In fact, I can't even say that I'd give Lanni the advantage these days....Targ and Martell seem very strong, and Bara/Stark aren't far off either.

And thanks for the vote of confidence guys.... It's now going to be really humiliating when I go 2-3 in Swiss preocupado.gif

I'll definitily do my part to help you to those three losses Dan.

And you forgot greyjoy - I think they are ahead of Targ in the Top Three.

~Gee, thanks Chris.

Yeah, I didn't mean to leave out GJ...mainly just noting that there is FINALLY some variety, though Lanni still seems to be a pretty competitive house all around. I'll be happy to see a mix of houses this regionals. (Actually, I'm not even sure which house I'll be playing, though since I've played Targ at the last three tourneys in NYC, maybe I should continue the tradition :P )

As it appears your placing continues to improve it should be time for Targ to take it home, right?

And Dan, who all from DC is planning to travel up there? It looks like I have a date conflict for the Woodbridge event, but meeting up with y'all helps shake off the cold shoulder those NYCer's always through me. :P

Seems about time to start reminding people about the tournament. And to do the trendy thing --show off the flyer! lengua.gif

Up-to-date important information is at www.AGoTNY.net. I am not doing a formal pre-registration (fees will be collected at the door for everyone), but if you expect to attend I would appreciate it if you sent me an email ([email protected]) with your name and area/meta you are part of (this will help me pre-populate the player list for the tournament software and to gauge how many rounds to plan on having). If you know others are likely to attend but not see this request, please let me know that as well. (Hopefully, since many likely participants will have picked up the power token set that FFG has included in the tournament kit at either the NYC melee or the DC joust, everyone who doesn't yet have a set will walk away with one.) Thank you.

One change to what had previously been posted on the website for some time: legal cards will include Defenders of the North cycle chapter packs and Lords of the North if released and available for purchase from retailers on June 12, 2010. (I had previously set the cutoff at June 10, but to be consistent with the one week cut off used by other regionals, I've adjusted the date.)

That's end of next week - gods, the tension.

If Frozen is legal it may well affect which deck I run. The rest of the Stark tech is pretty scary as well - but that one card alone can do so much harm....

~So if Froxen Solid returns, you might begin playing Targ again. I know how much that would pain you.gui%C3%B1o.gif

If frozen solid is legal I might go hibernate for a while... I hate that card, and the hype would just have me face a horde of stark players.

If Stark is out for NYC, I'm really not sure what to play. I'm pretty sure that would mean many people play Stark, in which case Lanni would be relatively weak and the metagame completely different. That could open up the Targ choices quite a bit...but then I sort of like the idea of playing Martell against all those Stark players. (There's something satisfying about bouncing an expensive Stark army with a 2-STR intrigue guy and Game of Cyvasse.)

Lords of Winter is on the shelves in NY. The wolves will howl next Saturday at the NY Regional.

Yep, Lords of Winter expansion is legal for the 'Moot and I have updated the tournament details to state that. Just a little over a week away!

For those on the fence, wouldn't you like a chance to win this?:

We're just a few days away.

If you plan to attend and haven't yet emailed me ([email protected]), please do (so I can get a jump on loading the player database for the pairing software).

schrecklich? bloodycelt? Will you guys be representing CT and MA, respectively, like you have in the past? Anyone coming with you?

Thanks.

~Could you send me the dimensions so I can prepare a space on my shelf? I'm having trouble measuring them from the image... lengua.gif

Hey, Jason, did Mike email you yet with the people from the DE/PA meta? And how many people are you expecting?

SO far it looks liek this;

Long Island: 6

NYC: 5-6

Philly/DE: 5

DC: 3

So ~ 20 confirmed. We haven't heard from CT who may be bringing 2 or bloodycelt from MA. So we're right around that 22 number that the West Coast hit and depenfing on last minute cofnrimations it looks like we'll either be just over or just under.

~well we should be able to convince one of the people that come into the cranberry cafe to play right? I think I remember talking to one of the busboys and he seemed interested in learning how to play :)

Don't forget to bring some Sharpies so you guys can all sign our poster. A poster tube would be a good idea too. That way you can just the thing off at FedEx before you go out to dinner and be done with it.

Good luck on a good tourney!

5:20 pm. EST and not a single update......... Who showed? What decks were played? details details....
