Someone just posted this question on BGG and I'm wondering what our thoughts are here at the official W:I forums?
"Bright wizard apprentice says - Action: Spend 2 resources to target the effects of an Action just triggered by another unit or support card. Cancel the effects of that Action (limit once per turn).
Lobber crew says - Action: Sacrifice this unit to force an opponent to sacrifice a unit he controls, if able.
In a game I played the opposing side would activate bright wizard apprentice in response to the lobber crew and my unit was sacrificed for nothing.
But in reading the FAQ, it says under terminology:
Sacrifice means to put a card that you control into it's owners discard pile. It cannot be cancelled or prevented by other effects.
So it seems to me the bright wizard apprentice ability would not work against the lobber crew and they would have to sacrifice a unit too according to the lobber crews text.
Is this correct? I'm not sure because I suppose an argument could be made that the bright wizard ability is targeting the effect of the sacrifice and so would be valid. Appreciate a clarification."
