What to do with the Ghost in 2e

I just don't know what to do with it, especially with some of the crew and turrets that worked well before now gone or changed.

Honestly I've always liked it with the Dorsal Turret. It's nothing fancy, but it's extra coverage. I have yet to see a torpedo that is much more effective than the Ghost's primary (to the point that it would be worth sinking points into). Hera flying with Ezra gunner sounds good because if she changes her mind on reds, Ezra gets extra force power and then still gets the extra attack. Maul would honestly still be good with Ezra to recharge his force, or Kanan for shedding the stress. You could take both but that gets expensive. Zeb or Chopper can be nice if you get stressed or bumped. I guess this is all intended thematically, but it seems to work well. My first is crazy expensive, but seems fun:

Ghost Title

Sabine (attack shuttle)

Phantom Title

I would use Maul instead of Kanan, but I don't have any scum, so am not getting the kit :(

but if I had to guess, you're going to grab Kanan or Hera and abuse the crap out of their abilities somehow

Hera's pilot ability is going to be very strong at IN5, especially with Nien Numb in the crew slot.

The Ghost is kind of dead, yeah. Although some are perfectly fine with this, it makes me a little sad since I quite liked it (no, I never flew Ghost/Fenn).

It's one of the only remaining 4-dice primaries, and since it's still at 0 agility it's not going to suffer as much from the evade/dice mod nerfs. The loss of TLT hurts it, but I think people will find uses for it.

That Kanan's ability is no longer action-dependent is frankly terrifying.

Abuse the back shot by running away and forcing a chase.

Also, unless I'm mistaken, you can dock AP5 and give it Tail Gunner, getting both the free coordinate and the free rear arc shot for the same price as Zeb.

The new cluster missiles might help with softening up swarms.

I had been thinking long and hard about this since we started getting information and it comes down to really three builds for me:

Kanan + AP5 + Evaan Verlaine, upgrades to taste but Gonk and Veteran Turret Gunner. The latter helps Kanan stay alive by giving him 1 agility.

Lothal Rebel + AP 5 and whoever you want to coordinate

Or the only one I'm actually looking forward too:

MEGAHERAGUNDAMWARRIOR!

Hera/Sabine/NN+Gonk/Dorsal/FCS/Targeting Scrambler

+ AP5 and Zeb Sheath shuttles

She has three actions a turn to keep the Gonk regen/Reinforce/Turret rotation going and is a slippery double tap out the rear being able to choose any bank whenever she moves. But only 1-4 weak shots may not be enough to give it teeth in the new meta.

But yeah it's pretty terrible now haha. Someone posted an interesting 1.0 to 2.0 cost comparison breakdown and the VCX was the biggest loser as on top of all the nerfs to Turrets/reinforce/its dial/rear arc/end of round coordinate, it also lost two shields and the cost stayed about the same or went up massively in Kanan's case. It's basically dead in the water.

But as much as I loved the Ghost in first edition with the new Clone Wars announcement I'm ditching the failed Rebellion against the glorious Empire and embracing my true calling as a Confederate soldier!
