Looking at that one image all I can say is the minis don't look the best painted, looking forward to actually seeing the sculpts since the Imperial Officer looks a bit like a guy who ate too much puffer face. And sort of wish they went with the sculpt that the officer has for their art, that looks great.

Depends when stuff drops, they could do a large dump of PT stuff and then begin to alternate them between OT and PT paired expansions. I'm looking forward to seeing what the Republic and CIS expansions will be and if they get a starter/faction pack.

Yeah, I REALLY wish they had gone with the female Imperial Commander shown in the art.

I really hope the Clone Wars factions get some kind of starter pack to kickstart a collection, if only for a similar bulk discount to the original starter set. I too am really interested in the direction that the Republic and CIS units take.

And looking at the Astro and Medical Droids my best is guess is that they both have a reaction that heals, astros for fixing vehicles and the medical droid likely letting you reduce one wound your unit would take that round.

Yea, the art looks like a confident woman ready to take charge of a situation, the other looks like a guy with side burns who just ate a little too much and is finding it hard to hold his blaster up.

Now here is the question though, do they release Phase 1 or Phase 2 Clones first?

I am really hoping Phase 1 armor. 1. It looks cooler than Phase 2. 2. Phase 2 armor is basically stormtrooper armor.

I'm assuming that they will release a new core set for them.

I quite like the model. The sideburns are a nice reference to all those very non-regulation looking haircuts in A New Hope, and the pose makes it look like he's about to kill someone in cold blood. There are enough models with their blaster arms stretched forward right now, so I prefer the model pose to the box art. That said, I will buy another and convert one. That is super easy to do with this plastic by simply using boiling water.

They appear to be able to be taken regardless of your commander, and are faction specific. Which is interesting

Makes a lot of sense though. The rule is you can't have two of the same name of Command Card, this lets you replace the non-Standing Order ones if you want in a one commander deck. I will say though the low cost, especially say with the Imperial One makes it ideal to run them with an Operative or two (when that's possible) who can be quite expensive but you obviously still want some command cards - the fact that the cards that come with them can go well with those units make sense.

On the subject of new factions, my hope is they'll do like Runewars does and do basically a "half a core" Faction Starter with a commander, two Corps and a Support and necessary generic cards accompanied by individual packs, but they might just stick to a big lump release of the basic unit packs. If Rebels and Empire have a "complete" start point after the Specialist packs they might reduce the releases for those factions for a while to pick pace up the new ones.

EDIT: The art on both the cards for the Imperial Officer is the lady, it might just be once again this is a terribad computer mockup of the mini, we know the preview materials this far out aren't always accurate.

So according to the inflight report the trooper minis that come with the specialists are an officer, medical droid, astromech and a radar tech? The radar tech prolly has relay.

Man theres so much stuff for my wallet this year and the beginning if next. I still haven’t gotten my hands on leia and fleet troopers, i want another speeder unit and at-rt, han, boba, chewie, sheev and their respective spec ops units. Then in the game section man the gun fir hoi4, distant stars for stellaris and whatever trade expansion they bring out, then next year the specialists and clone wars along with imperator rome.

*googles: which organs does a human not need if under nhs life support*

Really like those sets, thoug I also would prefer the Imperial lady over that guy.

Very true, though to play devil's advocate the sniper for the Rebel's commando expansion has the card art of a human while the mini is a mon calamari. I sort of which they had just reused some art from the Mon Cal hero in IA for the sniper personally.

Look more closely - the model is a woman and the "sideburns" are bangs.

She has the same basic torso shape as Leia and the two female rebel troopers.

Did you just assume her gender?

The waist looks masculine to me, as does the chest, but it's admittedly hard to tell in A. a uniform, and B. a small image.

Tbh aslong as there’s no beard you could say its a female, kinda

The Empire doesn't go in for feminising uniforms, it seems. Image above shows some women soldiers with what I think is a very similar torso shape to the women models in Legion.

I give their sculptors huge points for not going the standard miniature route of sexualising female soldiers (Infinity?), but the Legion models have, at least to my eyes, all been instantly recognisable as feminine body types. To me, they don't really resemble the semi-androgynous style we see in modern uniforms. That said, a friend of mine was surprised when I pointed out there were some female rebels in the squad he had been painting for a week . . .

Im afraid you’re wrong2209193-juno_fullbody.jpg

im not saying i want this but there is a precedent. However the box art clearly shows a non-feminised uniform

As for those wookies . . . I like that expansion except for the absurd backwards facing swords. To use those properly you would A. be in danger of being outreached by a switchblade, and B. at serious risk of breaking your arm when your blade actually struck your opponent. To me they look utterly implausible, so I'll probably convert that one model.

If you pick a tight fitting uniform then of course the curves will be shown off... The males wear the same style of tight fitting uniform.

New keyword on Wookies "Indomitable" roll Red dice for Rally instead of White. Then they have charge, unhindered and expert climber, jeez.

And Chewie has "Team Work" with Han so when you're within 1-2 of Han if one of you gets an Aim or Dodge token so does the other.

Also Chewie has another new keyword. It seems to be ENRAGE 4 and it says something like if he has 4 or more wound tokens, his courage value changes to "-" and he gains CHARGE

True, and typically Imperial officer uniforms are portrayed are very fairly fitting/tailored, similar to dress uniforms in most modern armies. Kind of like how Stormtrooper armour is white, the point isn't to be practical, it's to look intimidating.

As a counterpoint, a female Death trooper was in Rebels, and the only obvious feature was her voice.

.....hope for the SAPPER expert....with the many talents of mines, explosives, breaching, farm tools, mechanical tools, tools, shovels, picket pounders, post hole diggers....and licensed on all heavy engineer equipment.....those sappers are among the biggest backs in the army...

Woah wish, those aren't soldiers, those are Marines and Drill Instructors at that. If you call them "soldiers" they will rabidly and aggressively correct you on that...
