Any word or pictures on the prize support for the Max Firepower Qualifiers?

Galahax posted this earlier, better look at the personal minis. Seeing the miniature for the Imperial Officer it does look better than the one from the other promo shots, and could very well be a woman. But the highlights for me have to be the astro droids, can't wait to paint those bad boys up...but how many, 2...3...4?

True, and typically Imperial officer uniforms are portrayed are very fairly fitting/tailored, similar to dress uniforms in most modern armies. Kind of like how Stormtrooper armour is white, the point isn't to be practical, it's to look intimidating.

As a counterpoint, a female Death trooper was in Rebels, and the only obvious feature was her voice.

For the death trooper she was wearing armour, which i guess isn’t as flexible as the uniforms. Not that this really matters why are we arguing about this again

Because we are people on the internet commenting that we wish the imperial officer model more closely resembled the art and trying to determine if it is supposed to look male or female. Which led to a breif discussion about uniforms in and out of Star Wars and how well they would show or hide physical shape.

Q4 2018! lol FFG are so bad at managing releases. Even they don't know. I wish this was true.

What do the big gun things behind say? Q3 2018 or Q1 2019 - I can't tell.

Sculpt looks female to me - the fabric creasing from the belt to the chest sort of suggest something more prominent than simply male pectorals.

(this had gotten me looking far too closely at the mini)

Seeing it much closer in the image above, I think you're probably right.

Any close up pics of the Wookiees so we can see if any of them are female? ?

Well, the females are supposedly on average 50 kg lighter, so likely a thinner frame than the males, maybe a bit shorter. Probably depends on who is casting/drawing/writing the female Wookies to be honest, much like many other things in Star Wars.

I figure there's nothing Statuesque Miniatures heads can't fix.

I like how in the above pic, the Imperial officer looks like she is about to execute someone, while the Rebel commander seems to be slowly realizing what's going on and is considering drawing his sidearm. The Rebel tech or specialist or whatever he is looks like he's trying to live-stream a video of the incident on his phone.

As a fun little fact, I just realized that with a little green stuff the Rebel Officer could actually be painted up as a General Dodonna.

Participation prize is the Snowspeeder

Each game played earns a metal victory token

Complete all four games to get the Vader card

Win two games, get a spot gloss double sided Weiss/Wedge

Win three games and get the acrylic deployment zone markers

Top four get the card binder (each page holds four normal sized cards)

Win all four games, get the acrylic turn counter

There is also a challenge coin in gold, silver, and bronze for painting.

I got first place on Friday with a 4-0 record and got third place painting.

So that’s it for Gencon? No other sneak peeks?

Humans have barely any sexual dimormophism compared to other animals and even compared to other mammals. In the Star Wars universe, alien races probably couldn't tell our gender by looking at us. We have a measly 15% body mass difference, in lots of terran animals it's several times that. Human males and females are the same color, make the same noises, have virtually the same behavior compared to birds and stuff... We'd all look alike to them. May as well assume the reverse is true if it makes for better games.

Yes we humans often cant distinguish one person from another when said people are a different race. However, given the male dominated gaming industry, many female models are adequately endowed to make them easy to pick out... ?
