Empire has more high init generics.

Scum has loads of initiative 4 uniques, but almost no initiative 4 generics to fly with them.

Rebels have a really solid mix, probably the best overall.

I've always leaned towards PS matching in 1.0 - really going to miss Adaptability and VI.

This is actually really interesting. Most players will have one ace and the rest of the squad will be lower initiative value pilots, so I'm glad to see its pretty even at around i4. This is where the majority of the unique pilots sit for most factions, so it'll really come down to skill (or bids) to get the advantage at that initiative value.

Gone are the days of ace high squads. Generics and swarms seem likely to be more prevalent in 2.0 and this is where the factions seem to vary. It seems like the rebels and scum are fairly even as their generics are concentrated around i2. Imperials definitely seem to have the advantage in this area though, as they should.

Being able to see it all in a chart like this; I'm pretty happy with how the Dev's have distributed the initiative values overall.

Looks like bidding will be appropriate around i4

The spike between I3 and I4 uniques for the Imperials is interesting.

I guess a lot of that has to do with just how many I4 TIE Fighters there are now.

Rebel generics plummeting beyond I2 is also worth noting, you can really see a big difference in faction identity between them and the Imperials around that point. Rebels have the most even curve, which is probably to be expected.

Honestly though, I think the most important comparison would actually be these plots vs the plots for 1e. Would give you a good visual answer to the question of whether compressing PS down from 9 to 6 has evened out the spread at all.

As it is, outside of Scum I'd say we're looking at a very sensible distribution of initiative values here. I5s and I6s will get played, as they always have (PS 9s and 8s), I4s will get played simply because of the sheer number available. I1s will get played as blockers and cheap filler. The big question is still whether I2s and I3s will get played - are there enough good pilot abilities to get some I3s on the table? Is ordnance good enough to make initiative wars among generics a thing, and will that get us some I2s on the table?

It seems like I4 is the point of max efficiency - where abilities are most potent and costs are still low. I'd expect I4 Imperial mixed swarms to be the dominant presence here, especially given their ease of access to multiple actions in a round. R5 seems to be the domain of the fat turrets and larger tanks. I6 is the point fortress aces that accomplish very little but risk an equally small amount.

I1-3 are going to almost universally be swarm and mini-swarm based, I think. 3-5 smaller ships paired with 1 end game ace is a classic composition.

I like the data visualisation, thanks you for sharing. I am very glad that it reflects what I was thinking, rebels should have more unique heroes where imps got more generics dispensable ace. V2 is very good IMO.
