Quadswarm (because Howlswarm is so yesterday)

I might be creating a monster in this thread but it has to be free. Quadjumper is most aggressively costed scum ship currently, 28 points for 5 hull, 2 green dice and action from ****, and now they get better in multiples, as you really need those extra tractor token to move bigger stuff. What they lacked was damage output. And there FFG made what i consider a mistake, its called Drea Renthal, swarm enabler for scum. Now you can get her and 5 Jakku gunrunners into list and still have 10 points to give Drea turret for extra 90 degrees of arc goodness and droid for survivability. Or if you are evil person you can give few of your gunrunners seismic charges, for ultimate tractor and bomb love fest.

7 ship Tie swarm, the new goodness has only 21 hull, this has 31 + 2 shields for opponent to chew, and difference between 2 and 3 green ones in 2.0 is not so huge. And this has **** lot more tricks up its sleeves, with tractors and backward movement. Only problem is buying 5 quadjumpers and 2 scum conversion kits...

Shhhhhh... you've revealed my secrets for Kath and Drea's individualized entries into greatness!

Drea is a very solid swarm enabler that doesn't force you to have a close formation. The turret makes it exceptionally interesting.

Serissu is another option but probably not as solid for QJs as Drea though. Kath also is pretty solid but only improves her own attacks.

Yeah, Drea seems to be the way to go. I'm intrigued by it for sure.

If Drea equips a dorsal turret, will the turret arc be considered only at range 2 for her ability or will it extend to range 3? ICT seems to be the way to go, though.

Well it was said in dev interview in arc is considered up to range 3, but real answer will be in rules reference. Dorsal gives you 2 extra points to spend on bombs, or not bombs.

Here’s my secret swarm:

Kath Scarlett, Marauder, VTG

4x Binyare pirate, Feedback Array.

Pirates fly around blocking. If they’re unsuccessful, they probably get range 1 shots. If they are, take an ion and deal autodamage, then reduce agility for Kath to open fire. She gets right up in the middle of everything and blasts two ships per turn whenever possible.

Probably takes tons of practice, but seems pretty powerful.

In 2e you don't reduce agility by 1 for each tractor token. It's just -1 agility ifyou have *any* tractor tokens. Only value to multiple tokens is moving medium/large ships.

Can’t lie this idea is one the things I am super excited for. Maybe not all bombers but a 3 ship mini squad with enough points to have a decent escort with it is super sexy.

I ran 5 Jakku Gunrunners as a fun list in the current edition (mostly equipped with Seismic Charges and Deadmans Switch), and was looking at ways to update it to 2nd ed. Just taking a look at Drea Renthal and he certainly looks like a decent option. For less than 200pts you can have the following:

Drea Renthal - R5-TK, Dorsal Turret

5 Jakku Gunrunners - Deadmans Switch

Leaves a few points for other upgrades such as bombs or Tech upgrades on the Quadjumpers (I'm hoping Primed Thrusters or something like it makes a comeback, great to be able to reverse and then barrel roll). With R5-TK on Drea, you can deliberately target any Quads that are down to one health in order to blow them up and trigger their Deadmans Switch when they are right in the midst of the enemy.
