[2e] [Scum] Bombs Away!

By Vector Strike, in X-Wing Squad Lists

This thread is for discussing how to best use the tools for bombing in the Scum Faction.

For now, I've cooked this stuff ( core to the build )

1. Catch it if you can!

  • Emon Azzameen (76) [104]
  • Andrasta (6)
  • Cad Bane (4)
  • Seismic Charge x2 (6)
  • Trick Shot (1)
  • Cloaking Device (5)
  • Stealth Device (6)
  • Han Solo (54) [95]
  • Jabba the Hutt (8)
  • Rigged Cargo Chute (4)
  • Trick Shot (1)
  • Lando's Millenium Falcon (6)
  • [Docked] Autopilot Drone (12)
  • Bossk (10)

    Total: 199p

Plan: Han Solo leads the way, dropping obstacles in the path of enemies. Jabba the Hutt can reload those four times, giving you 11 total obstacles to pop with Emon Azzameen's bombs. Trick Shot plays well with Han Solo, as he wants to put an obstacle between himself and his target. The title brings the possibility to gets an extra dice vs Stressed enemies and a docked ship, which gives him +2 Shield tokens. Bossk is there to reroll your now amazing damage pool (2 base + 1 pilot + 1 talent + 1 title = 5) vs Stressed and obstructed enemies (perhaps a Veteran Turret Gunner would be good here too) if you miss.

Emon Azzameen follows in Han Solo's trail, dropping devices with 3-speed templates (straight and turns) near the obstacles created by Han Solo and get them back with Reload from Andrasta title. Cad Bane allows you to do a red Boost action after dropping a device, trolling the enemy ships even more! Why the 2 Seismic Charges? Because sometimes you'll bump into someone else or an asteroid, forbidding him the Reload action that turn; better be safe than sorry! (if you Veteran Turret Gunner with Han Solo, one of the bombs can become a Proton Bomb for the sake of variation). In this list, Emon Azzameen doesn't even need to shoot (and rarely will if he uses Reload every turn); his job is to keep dropping bombs near Han Solo's Debris Clouds or asteroids. To help him stick around longer, Cloaking Device and Stealth Device will make him defend with freaking 5 dice while cloaked!! As you don't have to decloak to drop a bomb, you'll want to keep Emon Azzameen cloaked as long as possible. He'll be like Santa Claus!

A variation would be using Marauder instead of Andrasta , a Device x1 bomb/mine and Skilled Bombardier to make you drop it with 2-speed/3-speed/4-speed templates (straight and turns); this would save you some points.

2. Every move you take, I'll be bombing you

  • Sol Sixxa (49) [71]
  • Havoc (4)
  • Bomblet Generator (5)
  • Skilled Bombardier (2)
  • Genius (0)
  • Trajectory Simulator (3)
  • Expert Handling (4)
  • Shield Upgrade (4)

Plan: drop devices with 1-speed/2-speed templates (all of them) or 4-speed/5-speed template (straight). Genius allows you to drop the device after maneuvers, giving you even more options! Shield Upgrade is there to keep you dropping more bombs and Expert Handling to make your life easier (Barrel Roll is too useful to stay as a red action).

A variation would be using Captain Nym , but I think Sol Sixxa is a better bomber while Nym survives longer.

This is not a list, just one ship.

3. Nothing Else Anti-matters

  • ´5x Crymorah Goon (32) [39]
  • Skilled Bombardier (2)
  • Seismic Charges (3)
  • R4 Astromech (2)

Total: 195p

Plan: Fly close to asteroids and destroy them with the charges. The R4 Astromech is there to ease the red Reload weight every other turn. Skilled Bombardier allows you to drop the bombs with 1-speed/2-speed templates (straight)

So, what do you guys say?

I think taking Cloaking Device on Emon with your load out would be fun. Decloaking first and then dropping a bomb really opens up the placement options on a couple of turns. Cad Bane to boost and a blue move to remove stress and recloak if you don’t have a decent shot.

The crymorah list might want a few different bombs in the list. 10 bombs and 6 asteroids leaves a couple of wasted opertunities. And as the field opens up it will be harder to get their ships close to the last couple of asteroids.

Looks like some fun options there. Let us know how they go when you get them on the table.

I believe Havoc adds the droid at the cost of the crew slot. Also, SB is a gunner not a crew upgrade anyway.

Updated the OP with the Cloaking Device idea and something of my own...

Over before it started. :(
From the Rules Reference pdf.
"• Each ship cannot drop or launch a device during the same phase that it decloaked."

DAM-N YOU, FFG! Why can't I have my B-2 in space???

I'll change that tomorrow
