So, I'm curious if there are efforts underway to mod particular models to appear differently. The specific case I'm wondering about is for the E-Web team. I personally would like my E-Web to be crewed by regular stormtroopers (or even scoutroopers, for that matter) rather than mix snowtroopers in with them. Another case would be placing regular imperial army troops on the speeder bikes.

So, is anyone out there making replacement figures for these cases?

Nothing so far as something like that, but I have magnetized all my AT-RT guns. I also magnetized the Mortar Launcher on the AT-ST. The other AT-ST guns and the rear gun on the speeder fit in and out well enough.

I know a bunch of people have been modding heads on a lot of their models with different aliens for the rebels and some helmet-less Stormtroopers. There's some great evidence of that in the painting forum.

Mel's Miniatures on Shapeways makes replacement models and additional models that aren't currently in the game for a bunch of FFG's Star Wars games, I'd give that a look.

I've seen many of those posts on the painting forum. Cool stuff over there, for sure. I plan to magnetize what can be reasonably done, in fact that was one of my plans. Magnetize the figures for the E-Web so I can swap the Stormtroopers for the Snowtroopers for use in the different terrains. I'll just have to keep my eyes peeled and hope someone with more talent than me can make it happen.

I'm pretty sure Stormtrooper Crews will pop up on Shapeways soon enough...^^

As for modding inspiration: Did you already check the "Painting" section? There are great conversions in every second thread...

My snow troopers are being painted as Vader's security forces (not all red in my case). That way I don't have a problem with the e-web. I swapped guns on my first two imperial squads. I may use some "HH-12 troopers" for the e-web after modification. I like doing modifications anyway, so it is not a big deal for me. I will probably wait until I get the e-web to make a final decision, just like I change the paint scheme on my snow troopers when I started to paint them, as I was going to go with galactic marines.

I don't think there is a single source here, I believe you will have to look around and see what you like.
