@Greebwahn
was a huge help in theory crafting this list so a big THANK YOU for the help!
So the list we finally put together was the following;
Rey: Crackshot, Finn, Smuggling Comp, Burnout SLAM, & Saw
Miranda: TLT, Bomblet, Harpoons, Extra Mun, LRS, C-3P0
(100)
So both ps8 with some great early firepower and a late game threat from both ships. I was mostly worried about lists that put out enough red dice early to delete Miranda in a single round (5 X-Wings, QNuNuNu, etc...), or a Kylo/Rival Miranda that outpoints mine and can run to time. I like to place my ships a little apart at the start and then make my opponent pick a target, the ship they don't go for then comes in hard as a flanker and deletes things as quick as possible!
Round 1
Nym/Miranda
So game one and my opponent puts down a real hard match up for me, his Miranda was worth more points and Nym at ps10 with protons and thermals (to block my k turn on Rey) is tough. I knew I had to go all in on Miranda or just auto lose once Rey died so that was my plan. I set up miranda in the middle of the board and Rey on the right, I went fast with Rey and slow rolled Miranda, trying to pressure him into going for Rey and letting my Miranda come in unmolested, or leaving Rey to do what she does best. He went for Miranda but I was able to 2 turn SLAM 2 bank to put her behind Rey and with a debris cloud for cover and adjust lanes so trajectory sim was no longer a threat. His list was kind of caught in no mans land now, he had no way to bomb me the following turn and he could either bail with Miranda (what I would have done), and leave Nym on his own, or just turn in and go for it. Thankfully he chose to turn in so I didn't have to chase Miranda across the board. I don't think he was expecting my Rey to 3 bank onto a debris cloud, but I don't care about the stress with all the passive mods I had, and now as his Miranda turned in, she was range 1 of Rey and Range 2/3 of Miranda. Perfect! I had her in a terrible spot and he had a tough choice to make. He decided to SLAM, and I was worried he was going to 2 straight into Rey and stop her shot, but he instead picked up the 2 bank and decided to just try and get out of her arc. I guess he was most worried about Finn/Rey rerolls. Unfortunately the only way to bank was onto the debris cloud! So his Miranda was stressed, unable to shoot (regen), and still r2 of my Miranda for a harpoon and r1 of Rey although out of arc. Following 9 red dice with mods plus the harpoon condition and crack shot, she still went down and I had only lost shields on Rey to a Nym Harpoon. The rest of the game was really just jostling a little to ensure he didn't catch my Miranda with some lucky crits, but eventually Rey got him at range one and down he went. Won 100-26.
Round 2
Asajj/Bossk
This was a really interesting list and a fun game. He had the Pup docked with the Slaver and his list was ALL about stress. He had Jabba so Asajj could drop 2 cargo shutes, in addition to her ability, and Bossk was running ASTS for his ability and Tactician for more stress, (plus a few more things I don't recall). He started with his ships in opposite corners, so I placed both of mine opposite Asajj and went as fast as I could. I knew she would get away, but I was able to drive her through a really awkward set of lanes and she hit a couple of debris clouds. Bossk turned in but I managed to get Rey to bump into him, and still having full mods I was able to strip Asajj of her shields all while Miranda hung out kiting at r3, despite her glitterstim Asajj took a few hits. Bossk then went for Miranda and Asajj ran - I let her go to turn both ships on the Hounds Tooth. He got 1 shot off before being ps killed a round later (man this Rey hits hard! The pup popped out and then was dispatched right away before shooting.) Asajj then came back in and he was able to get half of Rey down, but a harpoon from Miranda finally finished her off with her countermeasures already being spent. Won 100-26
I was now 2-0 and feeling really good, the list was clicking and I didn't see much in the field that I was worried about. There was a QDNuNuNu list, but he seemed to have fared poorly so far and if I won my next game I was unlikely to get that match up.
Round 3
Brobots (B & C)
This was a really unfortunate game for my opponent, the match up itself isn't great for him as I have the ps advantage and bombs, but he also set up exactly as I would have liked and pushed his ships into the middle, their large bases were really restricted by the rocks and I had one of my ships coming fast and hard up each flank. He got caught in two minds about who to go for and ended up with only one arc on Miranda. That set up was probably the best I had in the tournament and I was still able to focus fire on the same ship - despite my ships starting in completely different corners of the board. One brobot went down quickly and then the other had a hard time keeping arc. That one ended up k turning into a corner with both ships closing in and was killed before shooting. He rolled below average on evades, but I don't think it made a huge difference as he generally had no good moves available to him and I always felt that I had multiple safe options. The only damage I think I took in the game was from Saw/Miranda's ability. Won 100-0
Round 4
Poe, Wedge, Wes
Final table! Myself and the other 3-0 would play for the championship. He was a teenager but had been beating experienced players all day so I went in expecting a tough game. He had ps 9, 9, & 10 so I knew getting ps killed would be a risk and I really needed to trade Rey for an X Wing or 2 and then get Miranda 1 on 1 with any of them. I set up Miranda in the middle/a little left and Rey far right. He went right opposite Miranda and charged her. I immediately turned and slammed away - didn't want any of that business! Rey was able to flank hard and get into a good position. At this point I figured he might switch to Rey, and I 1 banked in to try and nail a ship. I honestly should have gone faster so one of his ships would bump and only 2 could shoot Rey. As it was Rey took 3 tough shots and went down to about 6-7 health. In return I had a r1 on Wes. Rolled and got Hit, Hit, Blank, Blank. No Finn unfortunately, re rolled the 2 blanks and got 1 more hit. Wes got an evade and only lost his shields - no crits at all and this was a bad trade for me. I knew I had to win the next 2 rounds or be left behind. So I threw Miranda in the mix as a (very expensive!) blocker and Rey k-turned, then being able to put the pain into Wedge. Miranda killed him next round as Poe took Rey out. Wounded Wes limped away and I took off after him with Poe going the long way around the rocks. Wes tried desperately to get out of range, but eventually got pushed out to the board edge with 1hp left and flew off in a desperate attempt to avoid shots. Poe vs Miranda left and I knew I couldn't touch him with TLT or Harpoons (black 1), so I resolved to drag him through the rocks as much as I could and get him to run into bomblets. I was able to really restrict him to only a few shots here or there on Miranda and nothing too damaging. Poe ran through 6 bomblets and lost only a couple of shields, the standoff held until time and I took it. Won 58-53. Very close game and my only opponent of the day to kill one of my ships.
Had a great time and my friends also placed 3rd, 5th, and 8th so it was a happy car ride home! Huge thanks again to @Greebwahn and I look forward to seeing what 2.0 lists you might be able to help me cook up!
Thanks for reading!
