What if the big announcement is

By Shadow345, in Star Wars: Armada

A repackage of an Imperial Class Star Destroyer?

Death Squadron Star Destroyer

Commander - Admiral Piett

Titles - Stalker, Tyrant

So after Wave VII with its repainted and retrofitted version of the ISD - which wasn't the "something big" we'd get another version of a repainted and retrofitted ISD? Well played...

Tector model!

The Tector needs a model to the same degree that we need a wingless liberty model. Zero.

Man Avenger swooping in and saying " ain't nobody got time for yo defense tokens"

The tector could look radically different to an ISD.

We barely know enough about it and have only seen a fragment.

I still need to add three more Star Destroyers to my collection to reach my goal of ten, so I'd buy another repack with new titles and upgrades. But, Admiral Piett has to come with the SSD. Give me Gorin or Daala or both instead.

I wouldn't care if it didn't look much different. Just cover the hangar bay and make any other necessary alterations for what we have seen. Then flip the way the ship mounts so it flies upside down. I would love that but I can see why others might not want that.

*WARNING! ENTERING MINI-RANT MODE!*

The Tector has always bothered me like almost nothing else in Star Wars because it's just a cover for a poorly done movie shot.

*MINI-RANT OVER*

Oh no, I am so of the complete opposite opinion here. I absolutely love it when they come up with an at least half-a**ed story to compensate(probably not the right word but close enough) for a mistake. H*** simple mis-colorings of characters from the 80s Transformers cartoon resulted in whole new and interesting characters being added to canon and toys being made from them. I love mistakes that can generate good content.

How about a repackage of the VSD?

Crimson Command Victory I, II

Commander - Gilad Pellaeon

Titles: 13X

Add in some cards designed to help regular VSDs and I'd be happy.

At the mpment any news at all would be nice.

I would just like them to get the ships we already have back in stock first boefore they add more. Im still to find and get an Interdictor, ISD, light cruiser. Shipping to my pary of the world makes it almost impossible to buy from overseas.

The wingless liberty at least lacks the one distinct feature of the Liberty itself and can be made into an interesting variant.

What we know of the Tector? Between that an the ISD, how can you tell the difference from the top?

No, they out do themselves.

FFG: "Well you know how we've released the ISD II to you twice?"

Fanbase: "Yea..."

FFG: "Well....now we are releasing a new ISD Expansion..."

Fanbase: *Rage*

FFG: "And it is the ISD I seen in ANH and Rogue One!"

Fanbase: *Simmers but salty*

FFG: "And...you can plug this added piece into the bottom to turn it into a Tector!"

Fanbase: *throws money at FFG*

FFG: "Now, Rebels...We know that you don't want another Mon Calamari large ship, so...We are giving you the first Huge Ship for Armada the MC85!"

Fanbase: "Yay!" and *Rage Intensifies*

I am afraid to ask, is Tector a well known ship?

It is the first time I am hearing about it and I never noticed the ship at Battle of Endor or at other mediums.

No it's not a well known ship at all. More of a don't blink you'll miss it kind of thing.

I guess we have to thank ILM for it, currently I am reading Rinzler's making of Return of the Jedi, I wonder if they mention it. I am not there yet in the book but one documentary they said they had a hectic schedule shooting effect for ROTJ and I wonder if they tried to show bottom as the top and thats why they covered the hangar ( I think they had bigger models of the bottom for close-up shots).

For the Battle of Endor, one thing I am curious about is, once I heard a rumour that, they replaced one of the background ships with a sneaker as an internal gag.

I hope is not true, FFG might just release sports shoes as the next wave :P

Thankfully those things are practically invisible even going frame by frame. There's also the possibility of a yogurt container for future release too.

Thanks, I was always wondered about this but never researched. Before I opened the link I was hoping to see a shoe in the middle of the battlefield but if it was visible, they would probably not allow it.

But, no, the Tector is nonsense. I'm with @Battlefleet 01 Studios on this one (and only this one). It was a poorly done movie shot, that was explained away at some point. Now, the Pride of Tarlandia, on the other hand...

But, I'm still confident that we're getting the Executor-class star dreadnought for GenCon. I imagine that we'll be seeing lots of pretty pictures of it before the (coming) week is over.

I’m with the anti-tector group. Unless I’ve been pointed to the wrong thing, I’ve watch that clip several times and I don’t see anything to suggest the falcon isn’t just skimming along the top of a ISD in front of the superstructure.

I made the tector thing as a joke.

I think you know how dangerous jokes can be around here.

I just skimmed over the legends article and I can’t hold myself over the fact thar there was a tector with the most intimidating name of ... Gibbon. This is now one of my most favourite, weird capital ship names in star wars, along with Maria. (Also just throwing in the Imperial Dreadnaught cruiser christened Braxant Bonecrusher, I am still split wether thats bad*ss or cringey)

Now what was the topic again? :D
