Wedge Vs Soontir

The thing is that Soontir seems legit at as low as 54 points (just Predator). He can be made better with Hull Upgrade, Afterburners, whatever, but it's not strictly needed.

There's huge value to being the cheapest I6, who is also the 2nd most maneuverable (behind Reflex Vader).

How is he the cheapest... if they cost the same?

Because Wedge will never leave home without an astromech, usually an expensive one.

And soontir isn't paying for an EPT? Possibly even an expensive one?

Wedge is paying for one too. And elite slots that synergise with Wedge's full arc are more expensive than Predator or Crackshot that synergise with Fel's bullseye arc.

And its not like that astromech will do nothing... if soontir could take astros he would. Not having upgrade slots is not an advantage...

Sure, but because it would be stupid to leave the astromech behind, he's effectively more expensive than Fel, who can take or leave his modification slots.

Probably not, there's not one he really needs.

Personally, Soontir gets Predator--a measly 2 point upgrade. Dovetails well with his pilot ability which wants to have things bullseyed, and getting a double-mod attack either maximizes his one attack in five rounds, or means that his attack might actually do something when saving the focus for defense.

Plus, 54 is also still quite cheap.
